It is with very great sadness we announce that following a short illness Michael has passed away. The family have requested that we stay open at this present time but please bear with us as this may affect our opening hours while we process this news. If your appointment will be affected we will make every effort to contact you in advance. Michael meant a great deal to a great many people and many of his clients had been with him for decades so we know you will share in our shock at this news and in sending our deepest sympathies to his family. Thank you for your understanding at this difficult time.
As some of our clients will already be aware, Michael is away from the salon at the moment as he is currently awaiting surgery and will be off for several weeks. If your appointment will be affected by this we will be contacting you, if we haven't already done so, to discuss what you'd like to do. The salon will be open as normal, Tuesdays to Saturdays, but you may find yourself redirected to our answerphone if we are unable to get to the phone in time. Please leave a voicemail with your name and number and we will ring you back as soon as we are able. Similarly, if you ring us outside of our opening hours, please leave a message and one of the team will return your call when we are next open.
We'd like to say a huge thanks to all our clients whose appointments have been affected this week for their understanding. We are passing on all your well wishes to Michael and they are much appreciated.
With thanks from all the team at Michael Reynolds.
We've been delighted to see many of our clients back since we reopened in July. Many of the working practises we brought in are still in place but as there have been some small changes, we recommend reading our updated guide below, on what to expect from your salon visit, before attending your next appointment. Please do not attend your appointment if you have a sore throat, a persistent cough, a high temperature or a change to your sense of smell or taste. From this Friday, in accordance with new government regulations it will be mandatory to collect client contact details before we can perform any service as part of the NHS Test and Trace scheme. Thank you for your understanding.
===============
We are endeavouring to make the salon as safe as possible for our clients and team members which has resulted in some changes to how we work. We are currently limiting the amount of sections in use and increasing cleaning time between clients, which means a reduction to the amount of appointments we are able to offer and we won’t be able to provide any services that haven’t been booked in advance. We are now required to collect contact details prior to providing any service and, for up to 21 days following your appointment, we may be required to pass on your contact details to the NHS Test & Trace scheme. Your details will not be passed on to any other 3rd party. If you feel unwell with a sore throat, a persistent cough, a fever/high temperature or a loss of your sense of taste or smell, please do not attend your appointment and consult government guidelines on isolating.
In accordance with government guidelines, all clients are required to use hand sanitiser on arrival at the salon and masks must be worn. We can provide you with a disposable mask but you may prefer to wear your own. All team members are now required to wear masks and visors whilst they are with clients and we apologise for any communication difficulties that may arise from this. Stylists will put on a fresh apron and gloves before giving you a freshly laundered gown. Clients are requested not to bring excess bags with them and all belongings, except for coats, must be taken by the client to their stylist’s section. We have reduced the amount of seats available in our waiting area so we ask that clients arrive on time for their appointments and do not arrive early. We request that all clients remain in their section where possible to limit movement and maintain social distancing within the salon. The only exceptions to this will be in the event of an emergency to access the rear fire exit or if clients require the use of the toilet facilities. Paper towels will be provided in the toilet for drying hands and we request that anyone using the facilities uses the cleaning wipes provided to wipe down any surfaces touched.
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide dry cuts at the present time and all hair must be shampooed in the salon, this also applies to wet hair washed at home. Stylists will only remove their gloves after hair has been shampooed. In accordance with government guidelines, we are unable to provide magazines, hot drinks or biscuits but we have sealed cold drinks available. Clients are requested not to bring food or drink from home.
Any equipment used will be sterilised and each section disinfected between clients. All high traffic areas such as reception will be frequently cleaned. We have put all these measures in place in addition to our usual high standards of hygiene.
We appreciate that these changes will mean a different salon experience to normal and we thank you for your understanding.
Now we’ve been open for a few weeks and had the chance to settle in to our new routine, we wanted to thank all our clients for your support and understanding in helping us implement these changes and for making the transition to our new way of working as smooth as possible. From August we will be closing on Mondays but our opening hours remain unchanged for the rest of the week. However, if the salon is closed or we are unable to answer the phone you can leave us a voicemail with your name & number and a member of the team will ring you back as soon as we are able. Before attending your appointments, we recommend all clients read our salon information guide on what to expect and the changes you will find when you visit us. You can find this in the pinned post at the top of the page. Please do not attend your appointment if you are experiencing a sore throat, fever, persistent cough or loss of sense of taste or smell. Following your appointment, we may be required to pass on your contact details for up to 21 days after your visit but your number will not be passed on to any other third party. Please be aware there are currently some scam phone calls claiming they are from test & trace and that they need your money/bank details so they can send you an NHS testing kit. A genuine caller will not ask you for any money.
We're pleased to say the salon is now open! We're looking forward to welcoming back the first of our clients today. Everything you need to know ahead of your visit can be found in our previous post and we reccomend reading that ahead of your visit so you know what to expect.
If you're feeling unwell or experiencing any of the following symptoms: a new & persistent cough, a high temperature and/or a loss of sense of taste/smell please do not come in for your appointment.
We cannot currently offer walk-in appointments so please call the salon for all bookings or any other enquiries on 01793436733. We may be unable to answer the phone as quickly as normal so please leave a message with your name & number and we'll get back to you as soon as we can. Thank you!
Following on from the government announcement yesterday, we can confirm that the salon will be reopen from Saturday 4th July and we are now are taking bookings. We have compiled some information below to help explain what to expect from your salon visit, if you could please read that before you come in. Please phone the salon for bookings on 01793436733. If we aren't available to take your call, please leave us a voicemail with your name and number and we will call you back as soon as we can to arrange an appointment with you. Thank you for bearing with us through all the uncertainty of when we would be able to reopen and how. We are very much looking forward to welcoming you all back through the doors of Michael Reynolds Hairdressing.

Here at Michael Reynolds Hairdressing we are endeavouring to make the salon as safe as possible for our clients and team members which has resulted in some changes to how we work. This means that, for the time being, we are limiting the amount of sections in use which will result in a reduction to the amount of appointments we are able to offer and we won’t be able to provide any services that haven’t been booked in advance. Initially, due to the volume of clients and the reduced space available to us, we will initially be unable to offer substantial restyles when it comes to colour. If you are feeling unwell or experiencing a high temperature/fever, a new & persistent cough and/or a loss of sense of taste or smell please do not come in for your appointment.
All clients are required to use hand sanitiser on arrival at the salon and we request that masks are worn. We can provide you with a disposable mask but you may prefer to wear your own. Stylists will put on a clean apron and gloves before taking your coat and giving you a fresh gown. Clients are requested not to bring excess bags or belongings with them and all handbags must be taken by the client to their stylist’s section. Clients will be taken straight to their section where possible. We will have a reduced waiting area so we ask that clients arrive on time for their appointments and do not arrive early. For families who come in we will be able to sit you together. We request that all clients remain in their section where possible to limit movement in the salon. The only exceptions to this will be in the event of an emergency to access the rear fire exit or if clients require the use of the toilet facilities. Paper towels will be provided in the toilet for drying hands and we request that anyone using the facilities uses the provided wipes to wipe down any surfaces touched.

Any equipment used will be sterilised and each section disinfected between clients. All high traffic areas such as reception will be frequently cleaned. We are putting all these measures in place in addition to our usual high standards of hygiene.
We may be unable to answer the phone as quickly as we usually aim to do but we have an answerphone during opening hours so please leave us a voicemail with your name and number and we will return your call as soon as we are able. When we are taking bookings from you, we will need to take a phone number. We may be required to pass your name and number on for test and trace purposes only.
We appreciate that these changes will mean a different salon experience to normal and we thank you for your understanding.
Salon update: Good news! New government guidelines mean we are currently working towards reopening the salon on Saturday the 4th of July. As I'm sure you will appreciate, there will be some changes to how we work to keep everyone safe. So to allow us time to finalise our new working practises, we are not opening our books for another couple of weeks but we will update here as soon as we are taking appointments again, along with information on the changes we will be implementing in the salon for your welfare. We are very much looking forward to seeing you all again. Thank you for your ongoing support.
Following on from yesterday's briefing from the Prime Minister, the salon will remain closed for at a least a few more weeks. While we don't have any clearer guidance from the government just yet, we wanted to reassure all our clients that we are using this time to put measures into place so that when we are able to reopen, we can do so promptly and with as safe an environment as possible. Thank you for your understanding during this uncertain time, from all the team at Michael Reynolds.
