Who is looking forward to the month ahead

Struggling to breathe… but tests say everything is “normal”?

If you’ve been cleared of asthma, COPD, or other lung issues yet still feel:
• short of breath
• chest tightness
• air hunger or constant sighing

The issue may not be oxygen — it could be low CO₂ tolerance.

When your body can’t tolerate carbon dioxide well, your brain triggers breathing too early, making you feel breathless even when oxygen levels are fine.

The good news?
This is trainable with the right breathing strategies.

If you’ve been told “you’re fine” but don’t feel fine, let’s talk.

👉 Book a consultation and get clarity on what’s really going on.

So many of use are walking around not realising

We could be underbreathing, overbreathing, or breathing in ways that quietly impact our sleep, stress levels, and long-term health.

Breath is not just air, it is information to the nervous system

Under breathing (not getting enough oxygen effectively)

•Shallow chest breathing all day

•Holding the breath and consciously

•Mouse breathing during sleep

•Very slow restricted breathing

Over breathing (chronic hyperventilation)

•Constant sighing or yawning

•Breathing too fast during low stress

•Feeling like head or anxiety without a clear cause

•Over breathing at night

Dysfunctional breathing patterns

•Breathing primarily through the mouth instead of the nose

•Chess dominates breathing instead of diaphragm lead breathing

•Irregular breathing rhythm

•Breathing that doesn’t match activity level

The impact of this

•Pour sleep quality and waking up unrefreshed

•Elevated stress hormones and difficulty relaxing

•Increase anxiety or panic like sensations

•Reduce exercise intolerance

•Long-term cardiovascular and respiratory strain

What your thoughts do you think breathing is just breathing, what if the way you’re breathing right now is quietly sabotaging you

Welcome Back

Welcome back everybody, Happy New Year 🤍

I’m not going to pretend that I’m fully in this New Year just yet. I’m taking my time. Listening to my body. Practising breathing from a calm place.

It can be really loud this time of year lots of people telling you to set New Year’s resolutions, look ahead, plan, do more. But honestly, me to you… listen to your body. Take your time. We’re meant to be hibernating, and I’m still very much doing that.

I’m excited to be back. I love teaching breathwork and the power it holds, especially this month. And I’ll be practising what I preach listening to my body breath, slowly and cutting out the noise.

What will you be doing this month?

Asthma & Winter Taking Care of Yourself During the Colder Months

Winter can be a tough time for people with asthma. Cold air, indoor allergens, and busy routines can all make symptoms flare up more easily. This is just a gentle reminder that your health comes first and with a few small adjustments, you can move through winter feeling safer and more comfortable 🤍

Common Winter Asthma Triggers

Cold air: Winter air can be harsh on your lungs, so wrap up warm before heading outside

Dust & indoor allergens: Heaters, stored items, and indoor spaces can collect dust that may trigger symptoms

Smoke & strong smells: Candles, fireplaces, and perfumes can be irritating avoid them when possible

Stress & doing too much: Winter months can feel draining, and overexertion can make symptoms worse

Simple Ways to Protect Your Breathing

Be mindful indoors: Avoid dusty areas and take breaks when cleaning or organising

Keep your space clean: Gentle, regular cleaning can help reduce allergens

Skip strong scents: Fragrance-free products are kinder to your airways

Stay hydrated: Drinking water helps keep your breathing more comfortable

Slow your breathing: If you feel tight or breathless, pause and focus on slow, controlled breaths

Use what you’ve learned: If you’ve worked with me before, remember your breathing exercises they’re there to help

Rest when you need to: Slowing down is okay listen to your body

Always carry your inhaler: Keep it close so you feel safe and prepared

Learning how to breathe more functionally can have a massive impact on your asthma and how you manage it, If you want help next year, I can do that

Understanding Asthma and Breathing in your Child

It's gentle, natural, and supported every step of the way.

If your child struggles with asthma, let's chat about how Buteyko breathwork can support them.
This could make all the difference to them being on medication for the rest of their life, It's gentle, natural, and I’ll them support every step of the way.
