Why do we only rough-dry your hair after your Japanese Head Spa?
After your treatment, your scalp and hair have just had a thorough cleanse, so we prefer to keep things gentle and avoid unnecessary heat.
We do a gentle rough dry to make sure you leave comfortable, but we don’t fully blow-dry or style your hair. This helps us minimise heat and unnecessary manipulation of the hair immediately after your treatment.
We also recommend avoiding washing your hair and using high heat for the next 24 hours, allowing your scalp and hair to simply rest and enjoy the treatment.
Different Japanese Head Spas have different aftercare methods — this is simply the approach we choose at Luxe to keep your experience as gentle as possible. 🤍

✨ Let’s talk massage beds…
If you’ve been to Luxe before, you might have noticed that our massage bed is a little… different. 👀
And there’s a very good reason for that.
Our bed was custom-made specifically for Luxe by a professional bed maker, inspired by the traditional style of Thai massage beds — something I know and love from my background in massage.
It’s 1 metre wide by 2 metres long, made from solid wood with a comfortably firm, supportive mattress.
And just to be clear — it’s not hard or uncomfortable. Quite the opposite! It’s comfortable and feels more like lying on your own bed at home. 🛏️🤍
But there’s a reason we don’t use a soft mattress or add lots of extra padding on top.
When the surface is too soft, your body sinks into it when we apply pressure. The padding absorbs some of the pressure instead of allowing us to work with it properly.
That means we have to compensate by using more force, which can make the pressure less controlled and potentially uncomfortable for you — and it can also put unnecessary strain on the therapist.
For the way we massage at Luxe, we need a surface that gives us support and stability, while still being comfortable for you.
And yes… there’s a reason it’s so BIG too. 😂
Our bed is 1 metre wide and 2 metres long, which gives us plenty of space because sometimes I actually get on the bed with you during your massage to get the pressure and technique just right.
So we needed something big enough for both of us — and big enough for every body shape and size.
Even the bedding is custom-made — all the way from Thailand by my mummy. 🥹❤️
So I guess you could say this bed has a little bit of Thailand, a lot of love, and a whole lot of thought behind it.
I’ve tried the standard massage beds before — the ones that wobble, creak, move around, feel too small and just never quite feel right.
For the way we massage at Luxe, they simply didn’t work.
So instead of compromising, I decided to create something that works for our treatments, our therapists and, most importantly, our clients.
Strong. Stable. Spacious. Comfortable.
Every little detail at Luxe has a reason. 🤍
And this bed? It’s definitely one of them.
Today marks six months since I opened Luxe.
From a blank space and a dream to the little spa it is today, this journey has been filled with hard work, love and so many special moments. It hasn’t always been easy, but with the support of my amazing clients, Luxe has grown so much.
