A girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do on holiday 🤣☀️

She may have left it a little too long while enjoying the sunshine, but her exact words were: “That’s okay, Charlotte can fix anything!” 😂

Today’s colour correction involved a very gentle backwash cleanse using Blondor, with K18 added throughout to help protect the hair. We patiently waited for the dark pigment to shift, then washed it straight off before applying 6/0 Colour Touch to the roots.

A few delicate babylights were added through the sides for softness and brightness. My client didn’t want a face frame, so we kept that area slightly darker for a more natural finish.

Once the blonde had developed, everything was rinsed and blended together by emulsifying the Colour Touch through the mids and ends with water, creating a soft gloss effect before washing away. Finished with another K18 treatment, then styled to perfection 😍

Colour corrections don’t have to be aggressive when you understand the hair and work with it, not against it ✨

✨ Wear your older hair extensions during the summer months if possible
✨ Avoid contact between your extensions and body creams, SPF, lotions and fake tan
✨ Be mindful of hard water when washing your hair abroad
✨ Avoid excessive heat from the sun, straighteners, curling tools and sunbeds without using heat and UV protection
✨ Avoid chlorine and sea water where possible

If your extensions do become dry, discoloured or affected by minerals, this can often be reversed with Malibu Crystal Gel treatments. I always recommend packing a few Malibu Crystal Gel sachets in your suitcase when travelling, or booking a Malibu cleanse treatment when you return from holiday at the salon.
