Two most popular types of Extension application. Fusion Bonding:

Fusion bonding is the most widely used and long-lasting method that won't damage your natural hair. The bonding resin that we use is Keratin based, which is a natural protein that won't break the hair shaft. It is gentle to your hair and easily removable unlike lots of other types of adhesives which tend to be silicon based. Silicon glue is difficult to remove and can damage your natural hair. This is why hair extensions get a bad reputation! You can straighten, curl and brush your hair extensions as you would your own hair and we can add colour blends to create high/low-lights. This method will give you tiny bonds like Cheryl cole, you will get maximum volume, thickness and free movement. Depending on your natural hair re-growth, your extensions should last up to 3-4 months, perhaps even longer if well looked after. This method is ideal for holidays in hot countries as it is highly secure. Micro Rings/Links:

The Micro Ring installation and removal system is one of the easiest hair extension systems available on the market. These lightweight, almost undetectable metal rings are applied to your own hair; the hair extension is then clamped tightly inside the ring holding it securely to your natural hair. These tiny rings, which are coloured to blend in with your own hair will not be seen through. This is a cold method which uses no glues, heat or chemicals of any sort. The rings come in a range of different hair colours and are covered with a smooth coating which provides a comfortable cushion for hair. The rings clamp securely in place and will not slip out even during the most challenging of activities. These can last up to 3 months before they need repositioning. Maintaining your micro ring extensions could not be easier. With micro ring extensions, you can wash, blow-dry and style your hair as normally as you would if you do not have extensions applied. Removal is very quick, easy, and simply involves clamping the rings with a pair of pliers to squeeze them open. They are then just slid off of the hair, leaving it in perfectly good condition, it is highly important that they are removed by a hair extension technician to avoid any unnecessary damage to the hair by pulling or tagging.

I forgot to take a picture earlier 🤦‍♀️
So here’s what I created for today’s look:

I used 1 fine weave for the face frame, 2 slices on either side at the front of the head, then 4 weave slices around the nape of the neck, and 1 weave slice under the occipital bone to create a soft halo effect.

I worked with 3% peroxide and a gentle highlighter to keep my client’s hair in the best condition. I then sliced out the hair in between and used conditioner to save some of the existing blonde without adding more pre-lightener.

For the root, I painted on 6.13, closest to my client’s natural colour for a low-maintenance finish, and blended it in by hand. Finished with a lovely toner — and what a beautiful final blend 😍✨

✨ Transformation Journey ✨

My client came to me today with extensions and dreadlocks that had developed because she wasn’t given the right after-care advice previously. She also shared how she felt stuck in the black hair cycle for years and was ready for a big change.

We began with the removal of the old hair, followed by a full colour correction to gently lift her natural hair. I then toned it to blend beautifully with her new extensions.

For the finished look, I used 150g of 1g Russian Remy strands in a soft light brown shade, with touches of dark blonde to create natural highlights, applied using the fusion bond method. 🌟

💇‍♀️ After 11 hours, we achieved a fresh, natural result that both of us were over the moon with!
