👀💅🏻 Let’s talk about yesterday’s appointment…

This lovely lady reached out to me asking if I would remove what a previous nail tech had done and give her a completely fresh set as she was very unhappy with them. Of course, I was more than happy to help. 🤍

She explained that she attended a popular busy nail shop in town and had originally asked for builder gel with a French tip, but was advised she needed extensions to achieve this, despite having enough natural free edge. She agreed, but we later discovered she was given acrylic instead of builder gel.

She later returned to have them cut down slightly and have a new set of Builder gel applied. Instead of removing the existing acrylic, they simply cut the extensions down until there was no free edge at all and applied builder gel over the top.

When we started her removal yesterday, we discovered even more unknown product underneath. Once everything was safely removed, we could see that her natural nail plates were very sensitive.

She told me when she was in the nail shop, she experienced significant heat spikes in the lamp and felt her natural nails were being heavily drilled/filed causing pain before the product was even applied.

This is why nail health, communication and education should always come first. Your nail tech should listen to what you ask for, explain your options and prioritise the health of your natural nails. 💗

I’m so happy with how her fresh builder gel set turned out ready for her Son’s wedding, but even happier that we could safely remove everything and give her nails the care they needed. 🥹🤍

Never be afraid to ask questions about what’s being put on your nails — you deserve to understand and feel comfortable with your treatment. 💅🏻
