Meet some of the women behind the businesses in ‘Taunton Independent Quarter’… the founders, owners, directors and managers who have bought their vision to life, have kept their businesses running and in turn added something truly unique to Taunton.

Today we celebrate the passion, hard work and energy that these women bring to the table…the creativity, the fun, the knowledge, the skill…unique as individuals and creating something pretty powerful as a collective!

We don’t need one day to celebrate the fact that over half the businesses in this area are female founded but we’ll use this day to acknowledge the fact.

The theme for this year’s International women’s day is “Give to gain” - “..As individuals, giving support means calling out stereotypes, challenging discrimination, questioning bias, celebrating women's success, and more. When people, organizations, and communities give generously, opportunities and support for women increase. Giving is not a subtraction, it's intentional multiplication.
