As September is pain awareness month I thought over the next few weeks I would talk about what I can offer here at Macoby.............

Did you know that I provide pain assessment appointments?
(I am not diagnosing pain but if I am suspicious your dog is uncomfortable then I refer you back to your Vet for a diagnosis 🐶)

What's included:
- We have a good chat about your dog including any medical history
- Gait & posture analysis
- Muscle check
- Pain score
- Recommendations such as Vet check, home modifications & how complementary therapies could help

Who's this for?
- All dogs, all ages especially if you have noticed any changes with their mobility for example
- Behaviour changes such as increase in anxiety
- Pre existing problems such as hip dysplasia or arthritis to review any changes or make sure your dog is as comfortable as possible

How much does this cost?
- I am offering an introductory price of £40 (plus travel if required)

Sometimes pain is not always obvious, in fact recent studies show that up to 53% of all pet dogs are living in silent pain........

Have you noticed any of the following for example?.......
🐶 Becoming withdrawn or not interested in usual daily activities such as walks

🐶 Not eating as much
🐶 Restless/can't seem to settle for long
🐶 Reluctant to be stroked or groomed

Thought I would share this.............

The reason I became a canine massage therapist was to help dogs especially those with arthritis lead a more happy & comfortable life, it still amazes me how massage works on the body & each/every case is different this is why I never stop learning!!

Morning visits done as this afternoon is too warm for massage therapy...........🐶

On my list today was visiting the beautiful Margot who I have been working with to build trust & also tailored a canine exercise program to help with skipping on her back left leg..........

We are now a few weeks into the plan - her humans have done amazing at following the exercises, fab results as so far we have built up muscle mass, have more even weight bearing, she is hardly skipping anymore & her back (epaxials) are really comfortable 🙂
Today she even allowed a mini massage with more hands on work which is just brilliant!!

This afternoon will now be a chance for me to catch up with admin....accounts, emails, vet reports & case notes here I come.......

Kim our senior Registered Vet Nurse will be starting canine rehab clinics this month on a Wednesday, she is fully trained in clinical canine massage & holds further qualifications in canine exercise rehab as well as arthritis care/management 🙂

If you are seeking canine massage for your dog then remember to check the therapists qualifications very very carefully.......

Clinical canine massage is not just a pamper session for your dog, it is a valid form of complementary therapy BUT in the wrong hands it can exasperate pain if performed incorrectly 🐶🙁
