Your consultation is all about you, your skin and your hair. It’s a chance for us to chat, assess your suitability and make sure laser hair removal is the right treatment for you.

The Cleaners

Whenever I talk about laser hair removal I talk about the machine being the bulldozer and your lymphatic system being the cleaners. The cleaners play an important role in your tattoo removal and it is essential to make sure that they are well maintained throughout.

⚡ To summarise: during tattoo removal the laser shatters the ink particles into tiny pieces that are carried away and naturally disposed of through your body's lymphatic system. So how do we make it more efficient?

⚡ Drink plenty of water! This aids your body to pump more efficiently and helps you see better results in between sessions
⚡ Processed foods contain a huge amount of salt which your body will then retain. This slows down your lymphatic system and you see water retention build
⚡ Stop smoking! A healthy lifestyle leads to a healthy and lymphatic system!
⚡Move more. Again, this helps to keep your lymphatic flow and helps with more than just your tattoo removal!!!

Long and short of it, the more you look after yourself the bigger the results. I can always tell when people do not follow the aftercare properly. Don't make me work my finger at you!!!

⚡Let's Talk.. Episode Four

Skin Type

This is a very important part of my job and one I take incredibly seriously.
Diode lasers work best on skin types 1-4 due to the nature of how they work.
The diode works by targeting the pigment in the hair and heating it to over 70 degrees. With a skin type 1 to 3 there is a bigger contrast between the skin and the hair follicle meaning there is less chance of risk to the skin.
As the skin type increases the contrast diminishes and there is more risk of damage such as hyperpigmentation and hypopigmentation as well as burns.
With a skin type 4 care is taken and adjustments made accordingly where the skin can be darker. This is mainly found in more intimate areas.

During your hair removal consultation, a large part of the appointment is used to determine the skin type and advice and guidance is given at this point.

Diode is not suitable for clients with skin type 5&6 and more laser machines are required to ensure skin health and safety
