Last year a new client contacted me just as her chemo had finished. Her hair had only just started growing back and she told me she wanted dreadlocks again — she wanted to feel like herself.
Her hair was far too short to make natural dreads, so we chose wool extensions. She already had some double-ended woolies she’d been braiding in before losing her mane. I cut them in half and worked out a way to securely attach them permanently so they became part of her hair.
Watching her see herself in the mirror again was honestly one of the most joyful and humbling experiences I’ve had doing this work. I felt really honoured to be trusted with something so personal.
As her own hair keeps growing, these will slowly transition into her natural dreadlocks — her own roots, her own strength, her own story.

Maintenance day in Swansea yesterday, for these seriously long natural dreads.
Six months of growth meant a proper catch-up session and a good tidy through.

A quick tidy-up before Christmas for these fabulous chunky dreadlocks ✨
I originally created these back in the summer, and they’re settling in beautifully — chunky and full of character.
This gentle maintenance session took place in Llandeilo, all about keeping things neat, and feeling good 🌿

This lovely customer came to me for a little TLC on her 20 partials. She had decided to treat herself to some beautiful wool extensions too. She wanted every piece a different length, thickness, texture and colour — honestly the dream creative brief.
I had so much fun working with four different types of wool, dyeing each one individually so every extension had its own personality. Loving this transformation… she left feeling like an absolute princess.

I first came to thislovely Tenby local back in in March for partial braid-in, wool, dread extensions.
Uniquely, istead of reinstalling them, she let her sections naturally mat and form their own little dreads.
Today was her first tidy-up — and now she’s rocking baby dreadlocks with her wool extensions still woven through.
Every dreadlock journey is completely unique… and I’m especially loving this one. 🌿✨
