For a long time I let a passing comment about how I run my clinic dictate how I felt about my professionalism. There was guilt, a little shame, A lot of restless emotions I didn't like addressing or looking directly at.
But I've come to realise that the very insecurity I was carrying is what makes this work possible, why I do what I do and why I'm able to help my clients the way that I do.
This isn't a practical post about hair loss or what to do about it. It's a post about connection and I think connection matters more in this work than people realise.
If the person advising you doesn't understand or see the world that you are living in, they may not give you the treatment you actually can manage- A treatment that is sustainable, effective and efficient FOR YOU!!
Sometimes compassion is required.
Sometimes acknowledgement of the struggle is what makes room for the plan to actually work.
I'm often in the same type of positions as my clients. Time Restraints. Energy struggles. A lot on my mind. Feelings of overwhelm. The same things my client's name when they walk in the door.
I'm not immune to any of it, i experience it in my own way but I experience it.
Every treatment plan I write is shaped around more than what is visible on the scalp. If a client walks in feeling overwhelmed, stretched or burnt out, .... I understand! It doesn't make me less professional, but actually makes my plan more potent- It means the plan I write for them will have the compassion, empathy, and realism to actually work FOR THEM!
Real results at the consistency that they can manage in a form that suits their real life.
This isn't a hair loss tip, It's a note about what happens between us when you sit in my chair, because sometimes I'm in the thick of it, in the thros of life just like you.
Lastly MASSIVE thank you and acknowledge to all the mums and dads taking turns on playdates and days out so that parents can keep up with all of life's demands especially during the holidays. It really does take a village, and I appreciate every one of mine this summer. ✨
Just my thoughts for today, drop me a ❤️ if you can relate.
Your hair is primarily made from keratin , which is a type of protein.
That means dietary protein provides some of the essential building blocks your body needs to produce healthy hair. Protein alone cannot prevent every type of hair loss, but consistently eating too little may affect the normal hair-growth cycle.
As a simple starting point, aim for at least 55g of protein per day. Your personal requirements may be higher depending on your body weight, activity level, health and individual circumstances.
Here are a few examples to help you visualise what that protein might look like:
• 100g cooked chicken breast — approximately 31g protein
• 100g cooked salmon — approximately 25g
• 100g drained tuna — approximately 25g
• 200g Greek yoghurt — approximately 20g
• Two large eggs — approximately 12g
• 100g cottage cheese — approximately 11g
• 100g cooked lentils — approximately 9g
• One scoop of protein powder — approximately 20–25g
You don’t need to eat all your protein in one meal. Spreading it across breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks can make your daily target much easier to reach.
Save this post for the next time you plan your meals.
(Protein values are approximate and will vary between products, brands, portion sizes and cooking methods.)
My clients privacy is so important, That's why I hardly (if ever) upload images of before and afters.
We live in a small town and a blurred out picture of someone's face isn't enough to protect the privacy of someone who just wants answers to their hair loss or scalp complaint. My clients deserve better than that ✨
So No you won't find many pictures of before and afters here, I use them for my clients investigation into their individual cases, but I don't need them to prove that I can do my job.
My qualifications, ongoing training, connections and contacts in the hair loss industry and my passion for wanting to do everything in my power to give my clients the answers they are looking for, is all I need.
I do however love a review ❣️
Feel free to message if you are looking for an appointment or have any questions you need answering before making that decision for better hair and scalp health.

From the very start I knew the clinic needed to be more than just a space- it had to be feel calm and deeply restful, peaceful and quietly elegant.
I drew inspiration from the moments and places visited on my travels that gave me that same feeling.
Clients often share how much they love the space, which is exactly what I hoped for ✨
There are a few appointments available next week if you would like to experience it yourself.
DM me the word BOOKING and I ll send you a link. 💚

Did you know your hair health is directly linked to your emotional wellbeing?
Research shows women experiencing higher levels of hair loss are 2.4 times more likely to report social anxiety. This isn’t just about hair — it’s about how you feel in yourself every day. 🧡
At my holistic trichologist clinic, I prioritise education, scalp care, and support to help you feel confident, radiant, and in control again.

I've had some great conversations with clients this week around the mental aspects of hair loss and scalp health.
Some hair loss and scalp complaints come with a quick fix, others take time and patience- either way both come with good days and bad, ups and downs, struggles and wins.
Please remember to Be kind to yourself, be gentle with yourself.
Progress IS progress even if it takes time, and as always I'm here to help. 💚

I'm delighted with the results this client has achieved over the last six months.
During her follow up she mentioned, that she was struggling to feel her hair improving, however the comparison on the images shows an enhancement in hair growth, that is often hard to measure when checking hair growth day by day. (For this reason follow up appointments and photo documentation are so important when measuring improvements).
This client was very knowledgeable on hair products, devices and hair care tips due to lots of personal research, and even sought help from other health care professionals about her hair loss.
However, with some tailored and personalised recommendations along with her consistency and dedication to her treatment plan, she is now starting to see such great results.
I'm truly delighted for this client, a lovely lady who deserves to feel herself again, and I feel privileged to have been able to assist her.
