Ben has recently competed in his swim club championships and achieved 6 gold medals overall. His 50m freestyle time ranks him 2nd in England. He has also been selected for the Regional Development pathway for the Southeast🏊

Tom competed at Polaris 38 earlier this month, Europe's biggest professional Jiu Jitsu event and submitted the home favourite in the second round. 🧑🏻‍🫯‍🧑🏼

Romeo has been at the British Championships this week in Sheffield. He is now British Champion in the 400 and 200 IM. He also won silver in 400 free, 200 back and 1500 free, plus a bronze in 200 breast. 🏊

☀️ Summer holidays are here — looking for things to do?

I’ve got loads of sport sessions running this weekend and throughout next week at Racecourse Sportsground in Tonbridge, and there’s something for everyone.

Removal of a closed pedestrian bridge linking Lower Castle Fields car park with Tonbridge Racecourse Sportsground will take place this week.

The bridge has reached the end of its serviceable life. It was closed to pedestrians earlier this year after inspections found that it was no longer suitable for public use.

Removal work is scheduled to take place from Tuesday 21 July to Friday 24 July 2026. The bridge will be lifted out by crane before being dismantled and taken away for disposal.

Visitors will still be able to reach the sportsground using the alternative pedestrian bridge near Tonbridge Swimming Pool.

Once the bridge has been removed, we will be able to examine the supporting structures more fully and assess the likely cost of any future work. No decision has yet been made on whether the bridge will be replaced. Any proposal would be considered by councillors once the necessary investigations and cost estimates have been completed.

SWIM SCHOOL TERM DATES 2026/2027

For all our Swim School members - the term runs until Sunday 26 July 2026 (those who attend Adult & Child classes finish on Tuesday 21 July).

ALL swimming lessons will return on Tuesday 1 September 2026 and dates for Swim School 2026/2027 can be found on our website: https://www.tmactive.co.uk/swimming/swimming-lessons/

Lessons run as normal during School Holidays and Bank Holidays (except Adult and Child Lessons which are term time only).
