So wrong in many ways. Makes me so angry when I see this as an advanced Cosmetic Post Op MLD Therapist who deal with Cosmetic post op clients on a daily basis to help them recovery effectively and safely after they have been to a Reputable Plastic Surgeon.

I know all too well the complications that can arise during and after liposuction. The Councils need to shut these people down and they should be prosecuted immediately. Please please guys do your homework check out who you are going to, make sure they are reputable don't be afraid to ask all the questions you need.

What to avoid before surgery?

Before getting cosmetic surgery, it is important to realise that you should make some changes. Of course you should always ask your surgeon for their advice first but from experience, these are some things I suggest that should help.

1. Avoid foods that will cause inflammation. Refined sugars are a notorious culprit for this, cutting these out will stand you in good stead for when you go into the post op recovery phase.

2. Try to stop smoking or drinking alcohol. This seems like a pretty obvious one, however many people don't think that this will make any difference, it could mean the world of difference when going into the recovery phase. The majority of patients who suffer with skin necrosis are smokers!

3. Eliminate all vitamin and herbal supplements, Omega 3 capsules, as well as ginger, green tea, flaxseed, cayenne, eggplant, garlic, tomatoes, and potatoes as these may as many may interfere with blood clotting. Also, eliminate caffeine, and artificial sweeteners.
