Before you think about tanning, make sure you know your skin type ☀️

Knowing your skin type helps ensure you follow the correct exposure times and tan responsibly.

Dis you know ...

DID YOU KNOW… 💡

Some people gradually build a base tan before going on sunny vacations. ✈️ 🏖️

When skin is exposed to UV light, it produces melanin, the pigment responsible for tanning. Melanin helps absorb and distribute some UV radiation in the skin. 🧬

Because of this, a tan can provide a small amount of natural protection, estimated to be about SPF 2–4.🛡️

This means skin that already has a tan may be slightly more resistant to burning compared to completely untanned skin.

However, a base tan is not a substitute for sunscreen. 🧴

Smart sun habits still matter:
✨ Build exposure gradually
✨ Condition and hydrate the skin
✨ Avoid overexposure
✨ Use a mineral sunscreen for additional protection

Understanding how the skin responds to UV exposure helps people make more informed decisions about indoor tanning and sun exposure. ☀️

This is one of the most common tanning myths, heat does not tan you, UV does!
