Since I always get many compliments I realised I could create more designs if I have more nails! So give me your nails and I will do magic! I don’t do gel nails because I don’t like using a UV light to cure them or later using acetone to remove the gel. Sure, gel nails last longer but for me safety comes first. Ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun is the main potentially avoidable risk factor for skin cancer, linked to an estimated 86% of malignant melanoma cases in the UK. The nail lamp also causes premature ageing of our skin. Gel manicures require a 10-minute pure acetone soak and that will usually cause extensive drying to the nails. Super dry, damaged nails will get drier and more brittle with acetone exposure. Many people don’t realize that the damage that we do to our nails is not from the polish but rather the remover. Our hands tell a story. They talk about elegance, charm, grace and beauty. They are our own personal place to express our style and uniqueness and they should not come at a cost. That’s what I believe.
