Soft glam doesn’t have to mean heavy skin.

For this recent photoshoot, the makeup needed to have definition, beautifully sculpted skin, contour, blush, bronzer and soft eyes, but the skin still needed to look like skin.

Because when the skin is such a big part of the image, you don’t want to see a layer of foundation sitting on top of it. You want to see beautiful, perfected skin.

I used FACE atelier Ultra Foundation PRO, and I loved how it melted into Natural Bikini Division | Hypertrophy • Posing • Biomechanics skin rather than looking like makeup sitting on the surface.

It gave me the coverage and perfection I needed for the shoot, while still allowing the skin to have dimension and look natural up close and still feeling super lightweight.

The finished look was definitely soft glam, just soft glam with skin at the centre of it.

And honestly, that’s my favourite kind of makeup: polished, sculpted and elevated, without losing the person underneath it.

I’ve never ever been so nervous in my life!

When Megan Derrig asked me to do her makeup for her wedding, I had never been so honoured and so nervous at the same time.

When I arrived at the venue, I was excited, emotional and honestly soooo nervous. My hands were shaking more than hers. But the moment she looked in the mirror and smiled, everything settled.

Being part of her morning, her joy, her transformation… I’ll carry that with me forever. Love you, girl. Thank you for trusting me with something so special.

When the mother of the bride or groom sits in my chair it’s a very special moment so I ….

🤍 make sure the mothers get time to be pampered too. Even when everyone around me is stressed. Because she can feel it. And she deserves better than that. I sit down with her. I look at her. And I ask the question most artists skip: “How do you want to feel today?” Not how do you want to look. How do you want to feel. This is the moment she sinks down in my chair and feels calm and heard.

🤍I’m not here to push makeup looks on her, trends that aren’t her, I’m here to really listen to how she really wants to feel for the day, as it’s a big part of her day too.
She is the woman who raised her child. She is walking down that aisle too. She will be in every photo.

When kelly booked me to do her wedding makeup she told me she didn’t want pink, although I said pink would match her beautiful wedding dress, so in her trial we went more browns and bronzes, which she liked, but after leaving and having that look for a few hours she said it didn’t feel like her, so she decided to arrange another trial.

Although kelly said no pink’s, she asked to try soft pink’s on the next trial with a soft pink on the cheeks too instead on bronze and she fell in love, so that’s what we did for the wedding and she absolutely loved it. I even created her own colour of lipstick to match her overall makeup and gave her a little pot in her touch up kit that I give to all my brides so she could re apply throughout the day if needed.
