That’s the truth of it. Sometimes, a treatment doesn’t work. Or at least, not in the way you might have expected. And here’s why that’s absolutely okay.

First, let’s start by stating one clear fact.

No individual treatment works for everyone.
I don’t care whether you are talking about holistic treatments, physical therapies, counselling, prescription medicines or surgery.

Every single intervention ever invented to improve health and wellness has a ‘failure rate’.

Every approach to improving health and wellbeing has…

People who benefit greatly
People who notice little or no change
People who experience unwanted side effects
People for whom it simply isn’t the right fit

And it’s all okay because… every time you try a treatment or intervention that doesn’t work for you, you are one step closer to finding one that does.

My clients often come to see me (for Zone Technique, massage and even my facials) when they’re at their wits end.

When they’ve tried everything, but nothing is working.

They’ve been through standard medical investigations and procedures, tried multiple medications, had surgeries, visited chiropractors, physios, acupuncturists, kinesiologists, reflexologists and more.

Each time, growing more and more frustrated at the lack of results.

Does that mean that those interventions, medicines and practitioners are ineffective?

No! Many of them will undoubtedly have a long list of happy clients!

It simply means they haven’t found the right fit… yet.

Maybe that next step is with me. Maybe it isn’t.
And that’s okay too.

But if you’re feeling exhausted by dead ends, don’t mistake ‘nothing is working for me’ for ‘nothing will ever work for me’

Healing is rarely a straight line. Sometimes it’s a process of ruling things out until you discover what your body has been asking for all along.

If you’re curious about whether my approach could be the right fit for you, I’d love to help you explore the options.

And if, after working together, we discover it isn’t, that’s okay too.

Every step teaches us something valuable and ultimately brings you closer to the answers you’re looking for.

The important thing is not to stop looking for them.

There comes a moment for many of us when we realise that the people we expected to show up… don’t.

Not because we’ve asked for too much.
Not because we’re difficult to love.

But because not everyone has the capacity to meet us where we are.

That realisation can be deeply painful. It can make you question your worth, your place, and whether you somehow don’t fit.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re carrying something heavy while everyone else seems to carry on as though nothing has changed, you’re not alone.

Sometimes the most healing thing isn’t trying harder to be understood by people who can’t understand. It’s finding spaces where you don’t have to explain yourself.

Where your feelings aren’t “too much”. Where you can take the mask off, exhale, and simply be.

Spaces like my studio.

Why?

You deserve support.
You deserve to be listened to.
You deserve to connect in a way that feels safe, mutual and genuine.

Here’s a gentle reminder - if you’re in a season where you’re discovering that your circle isn’t who you thought it was, know this: it’s not the end of your story. Sometimes life gently clears space for the people who are capable of walking alongside you.

Until then, be kind to yourself.
Treat yourself with compassion.
And welcome nurturing and support wherever you can find it.

I’m here for whatever you need. 💜

Always doing my best to give full consideration to every aspect of your experience here. Anticipating how you might be feeling before you arrive, and what you might need during your treatment and to prepare you for your day after you leave.

Because the little things can make all the difference.

What have been your favourite ways to stay cool during the heatwave?

A client recently contacted me to let me know that I had done something during a treatment that had shifted more than just their physical symptoms.

A simple bit of guidance that helped change a perspective and lighten the mental and emotional load.

Truth is… whilst I primarily offer massage, facials and Zone Technique, clients often leave my studio having been transformed in a number of ways.

As I explained in my video, holistic care means considering the whole person in front of you, not just the parts of the body being treated.

⚠️But there’s a note of caution on that. ⚠️

As a massage therapist, facialist or Zone Technique practitioner, I have a scope of practice that I work within in order to practice responsibly.

Fortunately, I have also worked as a coach and trained in counselling, neurolinguistic programming, breathwork, menopause support and other complementary modalities. I’ve chosen credible, reputable and registered training providers and mentors to learn from. I’ve applied my learning over years, working with real clients and accumulating case studies and training hours.

This has equipped me with the knowledge, skills, experience and protocols to draw upon to enhance your experience… safely, professionally and with a high level of care.

If I ask questions, offer guidance or make suggestions that might be helpful to improve your wellbeing, I am doing so from a place of training and professional experience, not just personal opinion or trend.

The same will be true of where I will utilise my wellbeing credentials and experience to create a safe and supportive environment and experience to positively impact wellness habits and recovery.

These days you can pick up a certificate online without ever having laid your hands on a real client.

Everyone has to start somewhere and I will always welcome and support those interested in working in wellbeing. And I will always advocate for credibility in an industry that carries a duty of care to clients we seek to support.

Whoever you choose as your practitioner, seek out someone who values the responsibility that comes with supporting your wellbeing as a whole person.

There’s a subtle shift that happens for many of the women that visit my studio. It’s especially common for those in midlife.

A time when women slowly disappear from their own lives.

Not dramatically.
Incrementally.
Indistinguishable moments when women say to themselves…

‘I’ll do that for myself next week.’
‘They need me more.’
‘I’ll eat/rest/heal later.’
‘It’s easier if I just sort it out instead.’
‘I don’t really mind.’

One small decision at a time. Each one compounding.

Until one day you realise you know exactly how everyone else is doing...
..but you have absolutely no idea how you are.

You’ve been so incredibly present in everyone else’s life. But strangely absent from your own.

Not because you don’t matter.
Because you’ve spent years believing everyone else’s needs matter more than yours.

The irony is that the women who are the most compassionate towards everyone else are often the least compassionate towards themselves.

So, let me offer a new perspective to ponder. Maybe coming for a treatment isn’t something you have to do to recover from your life.

Maybe it’s a way of returning to it.
Returning to yourself.

Because the woman you were? She’s still there.
Waiting patiently for you to remember her.

I’d love to help put the two of you back in touch. ✨

You’re living on borrowed energy. You’re not the only one. I’ve noticed a lot of women reach midlife living on borrowed energy.

Borrowing from tomorrow to get through today.

Borrowing from their sleep because there are still things to do.

Borrowing from their bodies because everyone else needs them.

Borrowing from their peace because they always have someone or something to worry about.

Borrowing from their joy because there’ll be time for that later.

Until one day they realise they’ve been living on an overdraft for years.

Not financially.

Physically.
Emotionally.
Spiritually.

The problem with borrowing energy is that eventually the debt has to be repaid.

Sometimes it arrives as exhaustion that a quiet weekend can’t fix.

Sometimes as anxiety.
Sometimes as irritability.
Sometimes as tears that seem to come from nowhere.
Sometimes your body simply says,
‘I can’t keep funding this life.’

And you likely already know it’s right.

Your body isn’t asking you to become stronger.
It’s asking you to stop borrowing from yourself.

If this resonates, maybe it’s time to stop treating rest as something you earn once everyone else is okay.

Whether it’s a massage, a facial experience or the gentle but powerful rebalancing of your body using Zone Technique, my treatment room exists for one reason: to help you begin paying yourself back.

If you’re ready, I’d love to welcome you.

I meet so many women who have quietly become the emotional anchor for everyone around them. Women like you, carrying it all.

The ageing parent or parents whose independence and health are slowly changing - impacting the rhythm of your life.

The teenagers or young adult children who rely on you for emotional, financial and practical support as they try to find their place in the world.

A partner.
Friends.
Work.

You’re the one everyone instinctively turns towards in times of need. And you respond in the only way you know how… by giving, and giving, and giving.

Until you realise that nobody has asked you a simple question for a very long time...

‘How are YOU?’

Not because people don’t care.
But because you’ve become so capable that everyone assumes you’re coping.

And you wouldn’t know how to answer honestly if they asked. Because you haven’t had time to check in with yourself either. And let’s face it…

You’re not falling apart (yet)
You’re functioning (just about)
You still get up (even though you’re bone tired)

You still organise, plan, remember birthdays, medications, appointments, university deadlines, family birthdays, shopping lists and who needs what.

You carry the invisible mental and emotional load so well that almost nobody sees you’re carrying it at all.

Except lately, you’ve noticed your body has started craving things you haven’t verbalised.

Rest.
Stillness.
Care.
Space.
Healing.

And of course it has! You’re superwoman in many ways. But you’re also human.

You have needs and vulnerabilities. You want to be seen and supported too.

If any of this feels familiar, it’s time to find a safe space where you’re free to be and do nothing for a little while.

Where someone else does the holding.

Where someone else reduces your physical and mental load.

You don’t have to figure out the solution, let me do it. You don’t have to prop yourself up, let me support you. You don’t have to push through aches, pains, chronic ill health and fatigue. Let me restore you.

Decide you deserve the same level of care that you give.

Let’s begin there.

Message me and I’ll guide you through the next step

So… I’ve made it to July 2026! The month I turn 50 - woo hoo! I have to say, the last two years have quite possibly brought more personal growth than the previous 48 combined.

If you’ve ever read the ‘Why Sekhem?’ post pinned to my profile (if not… you should), you’ll know that the Egyptian goddess Sekhmet inspired me to start what was initially intended to be a “little wellbeing side hustle.”

In true Sekhmet style… that goddess energy did exactly what she does when she’s invited in. She burned everything to the ground that was no longer serving me so I could rebuild and transform.

Meaning… 😬… I walked away from a full-time, high-level career—and all the stress and toxicity that came with it.

Alongside that, I was mentally and physically exhausted. Perimenopause was kicking me hard, and I felt disconnected from myself at a soul level.

I had no backup plan.

I just knew, deep in my bones, that something had to change. I craved more connection, and I wanted to return to, restore, and fully expand into my intuitive gifts, healing abilities and creative vision.

Driven by a desire to offer others the level of care, nurturing and healing that I so desperately needed myself, there was only one place to begin… by giving those things to myself first.

I (slowly 😬) stopped doubting myself, apologising for myself, and hiding my gifts.

I started expecting more for myself and demanding more from myself.

I stopped settling for less.

I turned down the volume on fear (because fear is a liar… every single time) and turned up the volume on my inner knowing.

I learned to be kinder and more loving towards myself.

I learned to make time for myself—and to protect that time.

I learned that I matter.

That I deserve to feel well, to be well, and to thrive.

As I turn 50, I’m relearning who I am and the personal power I have (we all do fyi).

I’ve said b-bye to self-doubt, people-pleasing, settling, shrinking, overworking, fear and the belief that I have to earn my worth.

I’m taking forward self-trust, deeper connection, courage, joy, creativity, healing, and thriving.

I can’t wait to see what’s next. ✨✨✨

But, mayb

You know what to do. So, stop procrastinating and click the link in my bio before your brain gives you another reason to believe you don’t need/deserve/have time.

💜

PS - excuse the fluffy hair. Curls don’t love a heatwave. 😬
