Everything on this page in this months Good Housekeeping (when did I get to the age where "Good Housekeeping" became a good read?)... I do love a colour, especially vivid greens and yellow...

About last night...... make up inspired by 90's Pammy Anderson and Daral Hannah in Blade Runner. No matter you eye, hair or skin colour gold and black always makes for a dramatic striking smokey eye...

It's not about making you beautiful, you've got that licked already, it's about highlighting it and having a bit of fun while we're at it. 💋

Packaging of dreams! I'd say my make up purchases are 80% about how much I like the product and 20% about the packaging (give or take). It's not about how good it looks on my dressing table (my dressing table is definitely function over style) and not about how impressive it is when I pull it out of my make up bag. Some things, as would say "spark joy", and for me it's amazing make up packaging. And their aren't many who do it as well as . As an aside, as I write this, in Tunbridge Wells have a offer at the Charlotte Tilbury counter, if you spend £100 accross any of their products you get a free lipstick and lipliner (I think there are 2 shades to choose from) worth £45! A deal not to be sniffed at in my opinion.

I have always been a bit snobby about Revolution Beauty make up. Nothing to do with it being less expensive, there are some amazing affordable brands out there, but more because they don't produce anything original, everything is a "dupe" of another brands star product. Anyway, I bought the "Astrological" pallette as I like the colours and really should't judge before I try. So... these pictures show the process of me doing a relatively simple eye using 3 of the shades, 2 matt, Lodestar and Dark Matter, and a shimmer in Rubble. Have I changed my opinion on Revolution? Not really, I still they are a pretty uninspiring brand and although the colours are pretty they are hard work to apply. Not terribly pigmented and a bit of a nightmare to blend. On another note though, a couple of pictures in and all of a sudden I look v tanned, amazing what a change of lighting can do to a picture!

The only difference between these pictures (apart from a pout in one and a smile in the other) is lipstick. The pictures were taken moments apart, no addition of blusher, bronzer or highlighter but, I think, that in the one where I am wearing lipstick (Charlotte Tilbury's In love with Olivia in this instance) my skin looks brighter and my cheeks look healthy and flushed. To be honest I like both looks (I embrace my pasty English complexion wherever possible) but it's amazing what the right shade of lippie can do isn't it? What do you think?

Anyone else feeling a tad emotional, and sweaty! After Joe Wicks last PE lesson? The man is a national hero and has definitely been a highlight of lockdown. @ Royal Tunbridge Wells

Saturday "Robert Palmer Girl" vibes. Dressed up to see my mum in the garden but soggy weather put paid to that so it's a red lipstick and housework day instead.
