I’m not sure where toners got a bad rep from but they are a finishing touch to enhance your bespoke hair colour.

Toners are used to adjust, refine, or enhance the tone of hair after it has been lightened or coloured. They do not make the hair lighter; instead, they change the shade or neutralise unwanted tones.

Nearly all of the inspo pics we see brought in will have had a toner used to achieve the final result.

Common reasons for using a toner include:

💜 Neutralising unwanted warmth:
After bleaching, hair often develops yellow, orange, or brassy tones. A toner with cool pigments (such as violet or blue) can counteract these unwanted colours.

💜 Creating desired shade
Toners help achieve specific blonde, silver, ash, beige, pearl, or pastel tones that cannot be achieved by lightening alone.

💜 Refreshing faded colour
Over time, coloured hair can lose its original tone. A toner restores vibrancy and freshness without requiring a full colour

Overall, toners are an important finishing step because they refine the final colour, improve the appearance of the hair, and help achieve your desired result.
