Other hairdressers are going to hate me for saying this, but women aren’t investing in grey blending for the practical reasons.

Back in July, we were on a Q&A call (available to students past and present) working through her pricing, live.
She wasn’t sure what to charge, hadn’t set up a waitlist, and was still doing everything over text.

Hairdressers: steal my secret strategy for an easier first grey blending appointment.
Using Aura smoothing treatment, I shift some of a client’s old colour before their first grey blending appointment even happens. The whiter their natural colour and the darker their ends, the bigger the shift of the ‘old’ colour you can create.
This does two things: it gives your client a genuine “win” right at the start of their journey- so she knows straight away she made the right call investing in you- and it makes your actual first colour appointment easier, with less damage to the hair.
I offer this to around 90% of my clients with hard-to-manage hair, which is incredibly common with the hormonal changes that come with menopause. It’s a genuine part of my process, not an add-on (which is part of the beauty of charging one set price for everything included- you have the freedom to do that).

The ‘aha’ realisation that shifted everything for me as a hairdresser...
Charging less tells people it’s not worth much. Charging what it’s actually worth tells them the opposite.
One of my Academy students, Kerri, priced her first case study at £950 and got ghosted for being ‘too expensive.’ She went straight to full price instead - £3k - and got three clients almost immediately.
Charging less attracts broke clients. Charging more attracts clients that invest whatever it takes to achieve their goal.
I say this so bluntly because I care about you actually succeeding with this- not just scraping by charging less than you’re worth.
