July 2016 I participated in a 10 day intense course at Writtle college, Essex, with lecturer Debranne Pattillo, where alongside her assistance learnt more about the anatomy of the horse as well as establishing the world renowned Equine bodywork massage routine, designed to pick up stress and trigger points easily. The externship wouldn't of been possible if I wasn't given the opportunity of 5 different horses as my case studies. Over the 6 months, each horse had initial and static dynamic conformation checks, walk and trot ups along with rein backs before each bodywork session began. There was also owner moves and stretches as well. I leant an awful lot in the 6 months, from gait analysis' to rider errors, and how conformation plays a massive role in the general well being of horses, as well as previous injury etc. I am pleased to say that I am a fully qualified and insured Equine massage, bodyworker (EEBW) and freelance groom, offering a reliable and professional business for our large four legged friends.
