You may be hearing more about Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS) regulation within the aesthetics industry recently, but it's important to know that this is not a new requirement 🤔

Independent clinics in Scotland have been required to register with and be regulated by Healthcare Improvement Scotland since 2016 and throughout my entire 12-year career in aesthetics, I have always practised within this framework 👏

✨️What is HIS regulation and why does it matter?

Healthcare Improvement Scotland is the national body responsible for regulating independent healthcare services in Scotland. It ensure clinics meet recognised healthcare standards and provide safe, effective, high-quality care ✅️

As an Independent Nurse Prescriber I am accountable not only to Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS) but also to the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC). This means I am required to maintain high professional standards, undertake continuing professional development, prescribe safely and appropriately. Work within evidence-based practice and always place patient safety at the heart of every decision 💕

The combination of both provides multiple layers of protection and reassurance for patients and I hope it helps you feel safe, supported, and genuinely cared for throughout your experience 🙏
