John thoroughly enjoyed his time at Halesowen Town football club today, where he watched a pre season friendly against West Bromwich Albion, unfortunately losing 1-3.

A belated happy birthday to Don who celebrated his 93rd birthday on Wednesday with friends and family 🥳

Another week has come and gone nearly and still lovely weather ☀️

On Monday, we visited the lovely Broadwaters Mill park, a flask of tea and cakes in tow!
The residents really enjoyed being out in nature and loved the mill pond and its streams.

On Tuesday we had the fantastic Johnny Allen entertain us, armchair dancing and lots of singing 🎶

Wednesday, the residents enjoyed a bi karaoke and sing-along, except poor Mark who had to protect his ear drums 🤣

Bee hive 🐝 update
Last year, you may remember we had a number of bee hives kept in the lower part of our grounds. Due to the heavy rainfall, the bees didn’t survive.
But, we are pleased to say this year, the honey is flowing and we are overwhelmed with the success.
Our honey will soon be on sale to purchase.

Another week with great activities at Lapal. Steve spent some one to one time with Margaret in the grounds admiring our garden and plants. Our eldest resident, Lily chatted about her family and growing up in the war and her favourite singer, Vera Lynn 🎵

Thursdays minibus trip was to Cherry Lane garden centre where we all had a good catch up over a cuppa ☕️
We all love a game of bingo, this week we had three winners - John, Ellen and Joan 👏

Also, this week the Lapalettes have been practising, altogether in on our lounge! Lots of enjoyment 🎶

This week, we welcomed Windsor High school students Lexie, Jarvis and Maisey to Lapal for their work experience.
They have been outstanding in helping our residents and getting involved in activities and even being on Midlands Today, thank you for being so caring, a credit to your school ❤️ and parents.

Also, John was ready with his shirt for the football, but it wasn’t to be for England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿⚽️
