The Chasend Stud of miniature shetland ponies was established in 1997. The stud stands one stallion, Athelney Lightning, who runs with four mares.
It is run by mother, Jennie Hutton and daughter, Sophie Jones who have a strong passion for the breed. Jennie is no stranger to the breed having been a part of the Robinhill stud in the 1970’s. Some of his daughters have been retained and are successfully shown by Sophie.

Such a proud moment today for us at the Chasend stud. Chasend Lady in Red winning the yeld mare class and taking reserve miniature champion at the Royal Highland Show with her owner Lynda Cochrane. Was brilliant to be able to watch the live feed

First show of the year under our belts. Harry took Schivas Katie to a local show, I think they were both pleased to be out!

Using the box as a hay feeder seemed a good idea, the girls though wouldn’t go near it! Had to lead them over, caused great excitement but now they know there is food they won’t leave!!

First and quite possibly only show for 2020. Harry took Schivas Katie to a local show and was 2nd in the veterans, 1st in the 20-25 section and then 3rd in a large small breeds m&m class. Really good day

Two peas in a pod. These two were ment for the show ring this year but now they are just enjoying the grass!
