I always advise my clients to apply numbing cream on an hour before they come especially if they are new to fillers to make the treatment as comftable as possible, however numbing cream can cause blanching and this is what you can see on my clients before photo with how pale her lips are.

After treatment more blood flow has rushed to the lips to try and heal which is why they become nice and pink looking 💋
