☀️ May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month 😎

An important time to raise awareness about protecting your skin and understanding the risks associated with skin cancer.

Skin Cancer Awareness Month is a global initiative focused on:

Educating people about prevention

Encouraging early detection

Promoting safe sun habits

Simple steps can make a meaningful difference:
✔️ Check your skin regularly for new or changing moles
✔️ Seek medical advice if you notice anything unusual
✔️ Use appropriate sun protection
✔️ Avoid excessive sun exposure, especially during peak hours

After sun exposure, skin can feel dry or sensitive, and keeping it moisturised can help support overall comfort. Emollients such as AproDerm Colloidal Oat Cream and AproDerm Emollient Cream can help hydrate and support the skin barrier after a day in the sun.

Looking after your skin is about awareness, protection and early action.

Rosacea is a common skin condition that starts with blushing and flushing, but can progress into persistent facial redness, pimples and sometimes facial disfigurement. The impact of rosacea goes more than skin-deep; it can have a significant psychological impact, affecting confidence and self-esteem, as well as reducing quality of life.

Exercise is a great way to support mental wellbeing, but vigorous activity can sometimes lead to overheating, which may trigger rosacea in some people. Swimming can be a great low-impact alternative.

If you head over to our website by clicking the link below, you’ll find an article that we produced about swimming and exercising with .

A lot of us enjoy a piece of chocolate from time to time and may even have some left over from .

If eaten in moderation, dark chocolate carries several health benefits.

🍫 The higher the cocoa content a chocolate has, the more beneficial it is. As well as having a higher cocoa content, dark chocolate is also rich in minerals like zinc, iron and magnesium.

🍫 Dark chocolate is also believed to contain high levels of antioxidants (flavanols and polyphenols). These antioxidants may decrease the threat of different diseases, including various cancers and heart disease.

How Can Stress Affect Your Skin?

We often think about how stress affects our mood or sleep, but it can affect our skin too.

When we feel stressed, the body releases hormones such as cortisol and triggers other changes in the body. These can sometimes:

Increase skin sensitivity

Contribute to dryness

Disrupt the skin barrier

Trigger flare-ups in people prone to eczema, psoriasis or rosacea

Stress doesn’t “cause” skin conditions, but it can make symptoms feel more noticeable or uncomfortable.

Keeping your skincare routine simple and consistent can help support your skin during stressful periods. Try using our emollients, AproDerm Colloidal Oat Cream, AproDerm Emollient Cream, AproDerm Gel, or AproDerm Ointment, which may help you to hydrate the skin and protect the skin barrier when it needs extra support.

And remember, taking a few quiet minutes to care for your skin can also be a moment to slow down and reset. 🫶🏼
