Celebrating the journey of Big Local SW11

On Saturday 14 March, residents, volunteers, partners and organisations came together at York Gardens Library to mark the End of an Era for Big Local SW11.

It was a special afternoon reflecting on more than a decade of community action, partnership and local leadership in Battersea. From youth projects and festivals to grassroots initiatives and collaborations across the neighbourhood, Big Local SW11 has always been about people coming together to make a difference where they live.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and to all those who have played a part in the journey since 2012.

While the programme has come to a close, the relationships, ideas and community leadership it helped to grow continue through the Battersea Alliance and the many organisations and residents working to strengthen our community.

Voices of Big Local 2025

This week’s fire in Battersea has affected our neighbours. Our hearts go out to everyone impacted, we know how deeply this will be felt across our community.

The Battersea Alliance is here for you. If you or someone you know needs help, support, or simply someone to talk to, please reach out to us. We can connect you with resources, local offers of support, and a caring network that wants to stand alongside you at this difficult time.

We are also working closely with Wandsworth Council and local partners to make sure residents get the right support. Fundraising is being directed through the Mayor’s Charities, ensuring help reaches where it is most needed.
