Doing my own today, for the first time in a while! Nothing I hate more 😂😂😂

My entry for “Nail Idol 2”.

I don’t have the confidence to work on clients yet, as I just don’t feel like I’m good enough. But these were done completely with acrylic - the only polish used was for the leopard spots & the clear top coat.

I am so proud of myself though - normally I would be too shy to enter! I really enjoyed being able to incorporate different things though, such as ombré, colour blocking, gel painting, French & more.

The original nails were by the incredibly talented Kylea Wherry, and in the collage pic, hers are clearly the top ones!
🙈🙈🙈 I am so glad it’s over - I can breathe again!

It’s true

I’m currently not taking any clients, due to awaiting spinal surgery. I won’t be back doing nails until early 2019, but please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you need any recommendations of local nail techs!
Any pictures I post will purely be practicing on myself, my practice hand, or new acrylics/glitters I have in stock.

This is what could happen if you go to a salon where sterilisation, health & safety are not a priority.
You may want to save a few ££s and go to a cheap NSS (non-standard salon)... but is it worth losing a limb?
You may think “it’s just my nails.. what harm can it do?”
You may even have friends who have been there & have been fine!
But then, you may end up like the poor lady in the pictures below.

As nail technicians we don’t just do a half a day course, or a £15 groupon course & call ourselves a business. We don’t just learn to put a bit of polish on... we have to learn about the biology of the hands, infection risks, sterilisation & how to ensure the utmost safety of our clients. We have client cards & keep notes on your health, medications, previous treatments & more,
We invest hundreds, thousands, even tens of thousands in our craft & that is why we may charge a couple of pounds more than your local salon who can peddle out full sets of acrylics in under an hour & have more of a conveyor belt than a salon. Do they have client cards? Do they even know anything about you, or take the time to inspect your nails or ask any questions before diving straight in?
Please, think before you take risks - you only get one body. And your health & wellbeing are absolutely paramount.

First time I’ve ever successfully managed an ombré! Exciting!

How beautiful are the new colours I got in my nail mail today?! Of course I had to test out the perfect peach - it’s the perfect n**e & if you know me, you’ll know I love my nails n**e!

Remember - when you have extensions! Treat them like jewels & they’ll last you much longer 🙂
