I was once told, “Comparison is the thief of joy”…

And I think I finally understand what that means…

I’ve spent the summer taking a bit of a break from Instagram and from the general pressure on myself to constantly be building my business.

Even though social media is such a great tool for business, it’s so easy to fall down a rabbit hole of comparison, overwhelm and imposter syndrome.

Which is exactly what happened to me.

And this isn’t me saying Instagram is the devil! 😂

There is SO much amazing information, inspiration and support on here, especially for small business owners and those of us in the beauty industry.

I also have so much admiration for the businesses out there who are absolutely smashing their content while also running their actual businesses day to day. Honestly, how you do it, I don’t know! 😂

I think my problem is that I’ve spent too much time looking at everyone else’s lane instead of staying in my own.

It led to what I can only describe as action paralysis. I felt so overwhelmed by what I should be doing that I didn’t know where to start.

The thing is, I’ve built my business over the past 14 years. It’s survived the pandemic, having my little boy, and all the ups and downs that come with running a business.

I also have clients who have been with me since I started working in a salon at 18! That’s 22 years of loyalty which I am so grateful for. 🩷

So I’m trying to remind myself that it’s okay to focus on the clients right in front of me, day to day. The clients I know and love, who continue to support my little business. ☺️

I need to learn to stay in my own lane, stop focusing so much on what everyone else is doing, and concentrate on what I’m good at and what actually makes me happy in my business.

I may not be the social media queen… but I am great at what I do.

And I’m trying to remind myself that that’s okay. 🫶🏽

🌿 Wellness Month 🌿

Wellness looks different for everyone. For me it’s about finding little ways to look after myself, both physically and mentally.

Moving my body. Getting outside. Travelling and exploring new places. Making time for the things I love. Resting when I need to. Spending time with people who make me feel good. And remembering that wellness doesn’t have to look perfect, or the latest trend 🤍

Sometimes looking after ourselves means slowing down, and sometimes it means getting out there, changing our surroundings, trying something new and creating memories.

This Wellness Month, I’m making a conscious effort to do more of what makes me feel good. movement, adventure, rest, connection. Whilst being kinder to myself along the way.

I’d love to know what wellness looks like to you. Comment below ⬇️ 🫶🏽

This review says it all. 😍

If you’re looking to improve your overall skin health, smooth uneven texture, soften acne scars, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, minimise enlarged pores, or achieve a brighter, firmer, more radiant complexion, microneedling is the treatment you’ve been searching for.

It’s suitable for most skin concerns and works by stimulating your skin’s natural collagen production, creating healthier, stronger skin from within.

Book your Microneedling treatment today. I promise you won’t regret it. 💫

As everyone is talking weather… I thought I’d jump on the bandwagon ☀️🥵

How have you been trying to keep cool during the heatwave?

As I sat in the garden today, I realised how much taking care of your skin reminds me of gardening.

A beautiful garden doesn’t happen because you watered it once.

It doesn’t thrive because you weeded it one weekend and forgot about it for the next six months.

It flourishes because of the small things done consistently over time.

Skin is exactly the same.

🌿 Regular facials help support and maintain skin health.
🌿 Good skincare products provide daily nourishment.
🌿 Nourishing the skin from within, with healthy habits create the environment for your skin to thrive.

We often look for quick fixes, but lasting results usually come from simple actions repeated consistently.

The most beautiful gardens aren’t created overnight.

And neither is healthy, glowing skin.

What’s one thing you’re doing consistently for your skin right now?

Maybe my toxic trait really is people pleasing… but honestly, It’s kind of a superpower when it comes to running a beauty business 🤍

Because I genuinely care about every little detail.

I care if you feel comfortable walking through the door.I care if you leave feeling more confident.I care about creating treatments that feel relaxing, results-driven and completely tailored to you.And yes… I probably do overthink every part of your experience 😅

But reading reviews like these reminds me why I do it.

Tacitah Beauty has never just been about skin treatments for me. It’s about creating a calm space where people feel looked after, comfortable and able to switch off for a while.

So thank you for every review, recommendation, referral and repeat appointment. It honestly means more than you know 🤍

One of my most asked questions in the salon is
‘What is light therapy’

So here’s a simple way to think of it…

Think of LED like giving your skin a daily supplement… but instead of swallowing it, you’re feeding your skin cells directly with light.

Your cells have tiny “batteries” inside them, and over time (stress, ageing, breakouts, inflammation) they start running low. LED light therapy recharges those batteries so your skin can function properly again.

Different colours = different jobs
❤️ Red light → boosts collagen, healing, anti-ageing
💙Blue light → targets breakout-causing bacteria
💛 Near infrared → works deeper for repair and inflammation

So instead of forcing your skin to change, LED is more like training it to behave better on its own.

That’s why it’s one of the most underrated treatments… it’s gentle, non-invasive, but works on a cellular level.

I use the Flex in my treatments because it’s medical-grade and results-driven… not just a trend.

If you are using an at home mask please do your research as if it’s cheap it probably isn’t working.

It’s not a quick fix… it’s a consistency treatment. But when you stick with it, the results are amazing ✨

So many people are taking collagen every single day
and not really questioning it

But when you actually add it up…

That’s easily £40- £70
Around £480-£720 a year!

On something that doesn’t necessarily target your skin

Because when you drink collagen
your body uses it where it needs it most. Not specifically your face

And yes, it can support your skin. But the results are often subtle

Now imagine putting that same money into treatments that actually stimulate collagen

Advanced treatments like microneedling work directly in the skin, triggering real collagen production where we need it

And the best part… These treatments are designed to be done as a course once a year

So for the same amount of money you’re already spending, you could be investing in an annual skin plan
that gives real, visible results

It’s not about cutting collagen out completely. Its about being intentional with where you invest

If you’re thinking about starting collagen supplements, or you’re already taking them without the results you expected, it may be time to take a more targeted approach

If you’re not wearing SPF… you’re undoing all the hard work you’re putting into your skin.

I’m constantly asked by clients how they can improve their skin. They want it to be smoother, brighter, clearer and more youthful…

But when I ask if they’re wearing a good quality SPF every single day, the answer is usually:
“Only when it’s sunny” or “just on holiday.”

And this is exactly where most people are going wrong…

Because UV exposure is the number one cause of premature ageing. We’re talking fine lines, pigmentation, loss of elasticity… all the things you’re trying to fix with treatments and products.

And the truth is, those rays are there even on cloudy days, even on your quick school runs, even on your Monday morning jog.

SPF isn’t an extra step when the sun shines. It’s the foundation of good skin.

You don’t need a complicated routine… just consistent habits that actually protect your skin long term.

Your future skin will thank you for it ✨
