🖤🤎Why don’t I pre-numb lips before lip blush? 🤎🖤

One word: blanching.

Pre-numbing can cause the lips to blanch (turn white), making it much harder to accurately see how the pigment is implanting into the skin. You can see this in the lower left image.

Instead, I start by carefully outlining the vermillion border and checking how well the pigment is taking as I work. Once the skin is open, the numbing is applied and works far more effectively, so I numb as I go to keep you as comfortable as possible.

Lips will of course regain full colour over the next couple of hours.

Yes… that first part is a bit of a big girl pants moment 😅, but it’s worth it for the best healed results. I promise I’ll always do everything I can to keep you comfortable while giving your lips the best chance of retaining beautiful, even colour.

This lovely client came back for her top-up and asked if I remembered them from years ago… of course I did! ✨

She then told me she noticed her lip colour change in depth and colour regularly, so naturally we decided it must be magic… and that people should probably avoid her when she’s extra “red”! 🙊🫶🏻

We’ll stick with the science (body heat 😅), but the magic story is definitely more fun.
