My aim is to offer the highest possible level of treatment to my clients, working on the soft tissue of the body.

A common concern I hear from new clients is that ‘it’s going to hurt’. I can’t lie, I often say “no pain, no gain”. However I describe it as GOOD pain. I will always communicate with my client regarding the pressure they can tolerate and it is my job to reach that sweet spot where there may be discomfort but you can feel the release of tension in the muscles. It is not brute force it is applied targeted pressure which will ultimately help reduce muscular pain, and improve movement, supplety and flexibility. 💪🏼😀

Sports massage unveiled
I am frequently asked who Sports & Remedial massage is for?
It is certainly for anyone who partakes in any sport or exercise regime at all levels. In fact, it should be used as an integral component to enhance physical performance.
It can be used to aid recovery after injury but also as a preventative measure to ensure the muscular system remains supple and flexible ( therefore less prone to injury )
However my practise does not only treat sports people. Probably the majority of my work is for those who are more sedentary, desk bound or struggle with occupational problems. These can result in a multitude of musculoskeletal problems which I treat with deep tissue work.
There are also medical conditions that benefit greatly from sports massage eg scoliosis, frozen shoulder, headaches, lumbago and plantar fasciitis ( to name but a few)
So sports massage is for everyone … not just Olympians 😉

BACK TO WORK
I increasingly treat people who spend the majority of their day seated, screen facing. This eventually leads to a multitude of physical problems. To improve your posture, standing desks can help reduce strain on your neck, shoulders and lower back that results from prolonged sitting. Standing helps align your spine, shoulders and neck reducing the risk of slouching and hunching over your desk.
Remember … poor posture is aging!

Ladies … keep Massage therapy in your toolbox to help combat menopause symptoms.
Research has found that deep tissue massage improves sleep in menopausal women suffering with insomnia 😴.
Another symptom of menopause includes joint pain and inflammation. This leads to joint stiffness and loss of range of movement. Ultimately changes in posture can occur as a result of this.
Don’t suffer in silence. Book a treatment to help cope with menopause 🤲🏻

Does massage therapy help tendon and ligament damage?
The short answer is.. yes
Deep friction massage is the common approach for addressing overuse or repetitive strain tendon disorders, which produces clinically beneficial results. It is thought that this type of massage stimulates fibroblast activity and encourages tissue healing within the damaged collagen matrix of the tendon.
