For those who don’t know me, my name’s Jodie. I’m a hairdresser in Weymouth, and I’m here to help spread the word so mums and dads can find the support they might need.

I became a mum in 2024 and struggled afterwards with postnatal anxiety and PTSD. At the time, I genuinely believed how I felt was normal and that I just needed to get on with it. It took me nearly two years to realise I wasn’t okay and that I needed to ask for help.

After speaking to other mums about my experience, I realised just how many felt the same way or were too scared to ask for help for a variety of reasons. Some mums even shared thoughts they had never told anyone before but felt safe enough to tell me.

I wanted to help these women, so I started doing my own research into where they could find support. Now I’m here to share that information in the hope it helps someone else.

There’s also support for dads through some of these organisations, including Home-Start - Dad Matters.

If you have people around you who make you feel safe, please reach out and talk to them. If you feel like you need professional help, or you’re not sure whether how you’re feeling is your normal self, there are people who can help. I’ve listed some support services below.

If you’re reading this, please share it. Even if it only reaches one person who needs it, I’ll feel like it’s made a real difference.

If there are any support groups or organisations I haven’t mentioned, please leave them in the comments so others can benefit too.

💜Purple Shampoo

Purple Shampoo utilises a special pigment to beautifully tone blonde and silver hair, it is designed to leave the hair feeling hydrated, replenished, and perfectly clean whilst toning.

A sulfate and paraben-free shampoo to keep hair beautiful and brass-free in-between salon visits.

Suitable for use with hair extensions.

NB: Always perform a test strand first to check colour distribution and intensity.

Purple Conditioner utilises a special pigment to beautifully tone blonde and silver hair, it is designed to leave the hair feeling hydrated, replenished, and perfectly clean whilst toning.

A sulfate and paraben-free conditioner to keep hair beautiful and brass-free in-between salon visits.

Suitable for all hair extension types, this lightweight formula helps to hydrate your hair extensions, with a unique conditioning system that allows liquid to pe*****te directly into the follicle, for long-lasting results.

NB: Hair extension conditioner should only be applied to the mid-lengths and ends. Do not apply conditioner to your roots and bonds.

💜Hair Extension Repair Mask

Hair extension repair mask is formulated for hair extension which have become dehydrated, undernourished, and damaged. Hair extension requires special care to keep them in tip-top condition, but if you have let your aftercare routine slip and are now suffering the consequences, this mask is for you. Containing Abyssinian Oil*, Argan Oil* & Keratin to create a deeply nourishing treatment that moisturizes and strengthens hair as it restores shine and a healthy appearance to even severely parched hair.

Suitable for daily use.

Suitable for all types of hair extensions.

NB: Apply to mid-lengths and ends only. Do not apply at the root.

💜Leave-In Conditioning Spray

A moisture packed conditioning spray, to help prevent breakage and damage from the consistent use of heated tools.
