We noticed and have been informed by many of our old clients and ex team members the reopening of Blondz ..

The people involved are not known to us and certainly not graduates of the Blondz era.

While we wish them the very best of luck and applaud the bravery of opening a salon in such trying times .

We do have to point out the name may well be the same , however time has proven that one of the hardest problems we faced was keeping up our professional standards in a world where such is not tought or trained any more.

And therefore we once again wishing the team at new Blondz the very best of luck and remember guys you may have pinched our name but the price of that is to ensure the standards of work , presentation and professionalism are as expected of the Blondz name .

Today part of me has died ..
I know very well that I sold Blondz nearly six years ago and therefore it is non of my business .
But ..
It was a dream of a young broke but ambitious hairdresser
Who took the jump into the unknown supported by the ever faithful Joy .
The excitement of opening on that first day and that excitement never dulled
The pride as I watched all those young juniors not only qualify but discover inner skills and abilities that enabled them to forever be Blondies ..
The professionalism ran through the very veins of the salon and the countless clients who we not only enjoyed creating amazing hair for but also developed lasting friendships with .

Top memories ?

Early colour trophy victories .

Bumping into my whole team so drunk on a Saturday night they were all sitting in the gutter in their finery .

Endless shop refits involving 60 straight hours work before opening on time .

That damn pile of colour bowls in the sink to be washed in cold water ..

I could go on .

But lets just say
Blondz you created a generation of top hairdressers .
And that to be honest is a legacy even the sadness of today and Blondz closing down can never take away .

So all of you just remember

Cross check that hair cut
Open that front door
And thank you all for all the times you made excuses to my clients when i was held up elsewhere ...
Bloody loved you all and still do
Regardless of anything
We bloody did it for 34 years .
Thats bloody amazing
Farewell Blondz but you depart with yer head held high and yer fringe needing trimming

And now the end is near
As we face the final curtain
(Well final blow dry)
To all our clients
We will state our case of which were certain
But most of all we did it our way ..

Regrets we’ve had a few
But then again they involve vodka more that peroxide.

We loved we laughed and we cried
But most of all we loved it all..

And boy did we love you all..

On that note we will close the door and wish you all goodbye with a tear in our eye and with that good old Blondz ambition still burning in our hearts we look forward to seeing you all at whichever salon your chosen Blondie is working .

Thank you every single client who ever visited our little salon over the last 32 years and 15 weeks of Blondz history
We are not sure even Shaun and his blind optimism ever thought we would last for one third of a century ..
But we did and we will always be proud of what we as a little old team created and nurtured..

Right I am off to find a very large G&T and drown my sorrows
