Hi all,
Most of you are aware I have a new job starting soon.
Thank you all for being fabulous clients and supporting my business 🥰.

Whilst I am counting the days down before my start date, I thought I’d share some tips as you’re looking for a new nail technician.

Check what brand they use, although anyone can get an allergy at any time, there are some professional brands known for causing reactions. I will attached photos of a list of recommended brands. This recommendations are from an independent non paid for research , you can view the ‘Nail awareness’ for clients face book page.

Some nail technicians use the term BIAB when they are using similar products by another brand (and that’s fine), just check which brand as they may be using a safe brand.

Another new recent scientific finding, is to ensure nail technicians are not using generic nail lamps on multiple brands. As products can look set but aren’t fully and this cause allergic reactions.

When I talk of allergic reactions,the main one is Onycholysis: it is a painless separation of the nail plate from the nail bed, thickening under the nail with red an inflamed fingers. it is often caused by allergic reactions to nail products (gels, acrylics, acrylates) (but also trauma, or infections).

If you have an allergic reaction it may not appear on the first use of an unsafe product, but allergies build over time.
Being allergic means you won’t be able to use products with that ingredients again and it’s relatives (acrylates HEMA, Di HEMA etc), not just for your nails but acrylates are used in teeth filling and joint implants, it’s also found in cosmetics.
