Social media is a strange place isn’t it?
It’s like you create something you’re incredibly proud of, and then within seconds you see someone else’s work and think I should put down the nail brush and never pick it back up again. At least that’s what I do.
And the annoying thing is that logically I know that social media is just a highlights reel, a tiny window into a creators life and work, and still I convince myself that everybody has their s**t together except for me.
And I know I’m not the only one. I’ve been part of so many conversations which all circle back to the same topic, that we don’t think we’re good enough and we’re too afraid to put ourselves out there.
So this is your reminder that you’re probably being a lot harder on yourself than anyone else. We are our own worst critics, which indeed makes us di*****ds. 😂
Now who wants to join me in not being a di****ad anymore? 🙋🏼♀️

Being a bit vulnerable and opening up on something a tad embarrassing here.
Juggling a full time corporate job, a toddler and being a nail artist can get a bit overwhelming.
There are days I work from 7-5 corporate, swap straight into artist mode and as soon as the appointment ends, I’m mum, getting all the cuddles from my 2 year old until it’s time to get into bed (yeah, he doesn’t sleep without me ahahaha )
With that, comes disorganisation.
Don’t get it twisted, after every clients, everything gets cleaned, wiped down and sanitised, ready for the next appointment, that’s a non-negotiable.
But it might just get “shoved” into the drawer. It has a place… but there might just be a few things bunged on top 👀
But it got too much so I went ahead and did some research for some fool-proof organisation.
Because I’ve done this a thousand times, bought a million different trays and boxes, only to be disappointed with the results and inevitably falling back into a sad set of drawers that I dread opening.
With that research, I found THE greatest trays. 3d printed, designed specifically for my drawer unit (the ikea alex, iykyk) and the best part, they fit EXACTLY. No little gaps for things to fall into and leave me frustratingly searching for something mid appointment.
I bought enough for 2 drawers and have already made another purchase for the rest. That’s how much my life has been changed by something so simple.
Being an artist, that often comes with chaos. I know I’m not the only one.
