WHY SHOULD YOUR NAIL TIP BE ABOUT THE THICKNESS OF A BANK CARD? 💅🏼 💳

Nope… we’re not putting your nails through a credit check 😂

But that little bank-card thickness rule actually has a very important reason!

The free edge of your extension is the part that gets knocked, caught, bashed and generally put through LIFE.

If it’s too thin → it can flex, bend, crack and snap.

If it’s too thick → you’ve got a chunky, heavy nail that can look bulky and put unnecessary stress on the natural nail.

The goal? STRUCTURE.

Think of your nail like a tiny bridge…

You don’t need the whole thing to be built like a tank, you need the strength in the right places.

💅🏼 The free edge needs enough thickness to resist flexing
💅🏼 The stress area/apex needs more structure
💅🏼 The cuticle area should be thin and beautifully blended
💅🏼 The whole enhancement should be balanced, not just “thick”

And that’s why around the thickness of a bank card at the free edge is such a useful visual guide.

Approximately 0.8mm of finished product at the very edge gives you a good balance of strength + flexibility + aesthetics.
