Big shoutout to my partner, who’s been living with type 1 diabetes since age 3 and still uses it as the perfect excuse to avoid anything he doesn’t want to do.

“Can you take the bins out?”
Him: “Can’t… I’m low.”
Funny how those lows always hit right when chores appear. 🤨😂

But jokes aside, he handles the ups, downs, alarms, needles, and general chaos with more strength and humour than most people could. Even when he’s driving me mad, I’m proud of him every day.

So here’s to raising awareness, supporting everyone living with diabetes, and giving a special nod to the diabetic kings who “mysteriously” go low the second something needs doing. 💙😇
