During Quiet Hours, the store creates a calmer, more sensory-friendly shopping experience by reducing things like the lighting, music and fragrance in the space.

It’s particularly helpful for neurodivergent shoppers or anyone who can find busy beauty stores overwhelming - but you don’t need to be neurodivergent to attend. It’s for anyone who would enjoy a quieter way to shop.

As someone with ADHD and autism, I know how overwhelming beauty shopping can be, which is why I love Sephora’s Quiet Hours.

During Quiet Hours, Sephora creates a calmer shopping experience with changes like dimmed digital screens, lower music and staff trained to adapt their approach, making the experience more accessible for those who need it.

They’re not just for neurodivergent people though. If you simply prefer a quieter, calmer shopping experience, you can go too.

Quiet Hours take place every Tuesday and Thursday from 9am–11am in participating UK Sephora stores.

I really hope more retailers follow their lead, because accessibility makes spaces better for everyone. 🤍
