☀️ 3 treatments I don’t recommend during a heatwave…

When the temperatures rise, it isn’t always the best time for every aesthetic treatment. Here are three I would avoid:

🔥 CO₂ Laser – I would usually defer this until autumn or winter. Recovery is more challenging in hot weather, and sun exposure significantly increases the risk of pigmentation and can affect your final results.

🧴 Chemical Peels – These are another treatment I generally prefer to leave until autumn. Freshly treated skin is far more sensitive to UV light, making pigmentation more likely if you’re out enjoying the summer.

💋 Lip Filler just before a summer holiday – This often catches people by surprise! Heat, flying, alcohol, salty foods and prolonged sun exposure can all make swelling worse. If you bruise or swell more than expected, you could end up spending the first few days of your holiday waiting for your lips to settle rather than enjoying your trip.

That doesn’t mean these treatments are off the table —it just means good timing is everything.

When we lose weight quickly, we don’t just lose fat around the waist. We also lose important facial fat pads that support volume, softness, and youthful contours. This can lead to a more hollow, gaunt or tired appearance, often called “Ozempic face.”

Scientifically, facial ageing after rapid weight loss is linked to:
• Loss of deep and superficial facial fat pads

If facial volume loss is already more advanced later in the weight loss journey, a combination approach is often needed — including HA fillers for structural support alongside skin boosters and collagen stimulators to target the multiple weakened layers of the face.
