Sophie had tried a lot of things before she came to us. None of them had worked, and she’d more or less accepted that this was just her skin.

The redness, the flushing, the sensitivity, the breakouts. She’d been buying products for sensitive skin and hoping.

What she actually had was rosacea, alongside a compromised skin barrier and a lot of internal inflammation. Nobody had put those three things together for her.

So we didn’t start with a treatment. We started with an assessment and worked out what was driving it.

Then we went at it properly. Lifestyle and diet. Omega-3 to support the barrier from the inside. A course of Dermalux to modulate the inflammation, repair the barrier and make the skin more resilient. And a trigger diary, so Sophie could work out what was actually setting off her flares rather than guessing.

That last part is the one people skip, and it’s often the one that changes everything.

Once her skin was calm and strong enough, we started IPL to address the remaining redness. Not before. Doing that on an impaired barrier would have set her back.

Sophie’s now transitioned onto a Pro Skin Membership to maintain her results, because rosacea doesn’t get fixed and forgotten. It gets managed well.

This is what the Pro Skin Method™ actually is. Discover, Decode, Plan, Treat, Maintain. Five stages, in that order, for a reason.

No single treatment did this. A plan did.

Dermalux Tri-Wave has three wavelengths. That doesn’t mean everyone gets all three.

This is the bit people find surprising. Not every skin is ready for red light, not everyone is suitable for blue, and not everyone needs near infrared. Which ones we use, and when we introduce them, is a decision we make about your skin, not a setting we leave the machine on.

Here’s why it matters.

Red light amplifies whatever the skin cell is already doing. If your skin is calm, that’s exactly what you want. But if there’s a lot of inflammation, red light will amplify that too, and you end up with more inflammation than you started with.

So with inflamed skin, we don’t start there. We’ll use the wavelengths that modulate the inflammation first, get the skin settled, and only then bring red in, at the point it will do what it’s supposed to do.

Same device. Same three wavelengths. Completely different outcome depending on the order.

This is why an LED treatment isn’t just an LED treatment, and why we assess before we treat rather than working from a menu. Discover and Decode come before Plan and Treat for a reason.

If you’ve had LED somewhere and felt like it made your skin angrier rather than calmer, this is very likely why.

We say this with love, because most women dealing with facial redness have got very, very good at covering it.

The green concealer. The full-coverage base. Knowing exactly which lighting is kind and which isn’t. Checking your face in the car mirror before you go anywhere.

That’s a lot of daily effort spent managing something that can often be treated.

Persistent redness, flushing and broken capillaries usually come down to blood vessels sitting close to the surface. Makeup covers them. IPL targets them; controlled pulses of light convert to heat and treat the vessel itself, leaving the surrounding skin alone.

It isn’t instant, and it isn’t one session. Most skins need 3 to 6. But the aim is that you stop needing the routine you’ve built around hiding it.

One important thing: if your redness is rosacea, and there’s barrier damage or active inflammation going on, we won’t start with IPL. We’d calm and strengthen the skin first, then treat the redness once it’s ready. Going in too early makes it worse, and we see the results of that.

Which is why we assess properly before we treat, rather than putting you straight on a machine.
