The habits that filled my brow diary aren’t the same ones that helped me build two salons.

As The Face Lab has grown, my work has grown with it. I still love being with clients, but I spend more of my time thinking about the bigger picture: where we need support, how we develop treatments, the standards we set as a team, and what makes clients want to come back.

Business development happens in those everyday decisions.

The treatment is what people see. The decisions behind it are what make the business work🤍

When the shape isn’t there, we create it🤎

This brow naturally had very little structure through the tail, so the aim wasn’t simply to laminate and tint, it was to completely rethink the shape.

Using precise brow mapping, I created an elongated structure designed specifically to complement her face, before laminating the natural hairs into position.

For the colour, I used the new Brow Code Professional Stain Hybrid Dye, staining the skin through the areas where natural hair was missing to create the illusion of a fuller, defined tail.

The result? A brow shape that quite literally didn’t exist before.

This month marks one whole year of The Face Lab Witney & 6 months of The Face Lab Cotswolds🤍

And I’m not quite sure how that happened so quickly.

A year ago, The Face Lab was me opening the doors to my first little studio in Witney, building my diary, doing brows and lashes and figuring out what I wanted this business to become.

And then three months into the first salon I was offered the lechlade space which I then took the next (slightly terrifying) step and opened our Cotswolds salon in Lechlade on the six months mark after a very crazy refurb.

Since I started my beauty business last January, we’ve grown into two locations, built an incredible team, introduced completely new treatments and experiences, welcomed thousands of appointments through our doors and created something that feels so much bigger than the original idea I had in my head.

I’m still a brow artist. I’m still behind the chair with my clients every week. But somewhere along the way I’ve also become an employer, salon owner X2, manager, marketer, problem solver, content creator and about 47 other job titles.

There have been long days, late nights, mistakes, lessons, risks and plenty of moments where I’ve wondered what on earth I’m doing…but I genuinely wouldn’t change it.

I’m so proud of what The Face Lab has become, but even more excited about where it’s going.

We’re still growing. Still learning. Still creating. And I have so many ideas for what comes next for the salon, for the team and for me personally (which I’m sure doesn’t come as a surprise)
