"Can you just use the rest of the syringe somewhere else?"
The answer is often no. And there's a very good reason why.

It might seem convenient to use leftover product from your lip treatment on your jawline or nose, but using the wrong filler in the wrong place can ruin your aesthetic result ❌

Dermal fillers are carefully engineered with different rheological properties. In simple terms, they vary in their firmness, flexibility, cohesivity and ability to attract water. These differences determine how a filler behaves once it's injected and why each product is designed for specific anatomical areas.

Under-eye fillers require a unique set of properties. The skin is exceptionally thin, so the filler must integrate smoothly into the surrounding tissues while minimising visibility and reducing the risk of swelling.

Lip fillers are softer and more flexible, allowing them to move naturally with your facial expressions while attracting more water to help create soft, hydrated lips. That's also why I don't use the same lip filler for every patient—I choose from multiple premium fillers depending on the result we're trying to achieve.

In contrast, a firmer, higher G′ filler used for the cheeks, chin, nose or jawline acts as a structural scaffold, providing lift, support and projection while attracting far less water than softer fillers.

Using the wrong filler in the wrong area can compromise both the aesthetic result and, in some situations, increase the risk of complications.

That's why choosing the right product is just as important as choosing the right injector. It's never about using what's left in the syringe, it's about selecting the exact rheology and density of dermal filler most appropriate for your specific anatomical structure, your goals and the area being treated. This is how to deliver safe, long-lasting, and undetectable results 🔍

He loved his non-surgical nose job so much he’s potentially booking a surgical rhinoplasty 👃

Thinking about changing the shape of your nose, but terrified of committing to permanent surgical rhinoplasty without knowing how it will actually look on your face? Deciding to alter a central facial feature can feel daunting, which is why so many patients start their journey with a non-surgical liquid rhinoplasty.

A non-surgical rhinoplasty involves placing strategic micro-droplets of high-support hyaluronic acid dermal filler along the nasal bridge and tip. This technique allows us to instantly smooth out dorsal humps, lift a drooping nasal tip, and refine your side profile in less than twenty minutes, with zero downtime or surgical recovery.

It serves as the ultimate real-life "trial run," giving you the confidence to see and feel what a refined profile looks like on your actual face before committing to permanent, irreversible surgery 💉

While liquid rhinoplasty provides temporary structural refinement lasting up to twelve to eighteen months, the nose is one of the most complex vascular zones on the face. Choosing a qualified medical doctor and licensed prescriber ensures your treatment is mapped with extreme anatomical precision and performed with absolute clinical safety.

Dr Mäla delivers bespoke non-surgical rhinoplasty consultations and doctor-led facial harmonisation at MPower Clinic across our Quinton, Birmingham and Tettenhall, Wolverhampton clinic locations.

Not only are we having a hot season, but it is now officially Wedding Season! ☀️

Wondering how to stop excessive summer sweating without ruining your favourite wardrobe pieces or constantly reapplying clinical antiperspirants? Excessive sweating, medically known as Hyperhidrosis, can feel impossible to manage during warmer months and high-pressure events.

Our treatment works by temporarily blocking the hyperactive chemical signals sent by your nerves to your sweat glands. Once these signals are interrupted, sweat production in that localised area simply pauses, giving you up to four months of dryness and complete confidence. While underarm sweating is the most common concern, treatment can also be targeted to areas including the upper lip, scalp and hairline, palms of the hands, soles of the feet, under the breasts, groin, and more...

The procedure itself takes less than thirty minutes, involves minimal discomfort, and lets you get straight back to your daily routine without any downtime. Whether you are preparing for a major event or just tired of sweat patches ruining your workday, doctor-led Hyperhidrosis treatments offer a reliable, versatile solution. Suitability, exact dosage, and prescription safety are always thoroughly evaluated during a face-to-face consultation ✨

My soul has left the chat 💀🧴☀️

I love my patients, but we need to have a serious talk about post-treatment maintenance 🛑

If we are doing advanced microneedling, skin boosters, or chemical treatments in my clinic to reverse sun damage and stimulate collagen, but you walk out into the sun without a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ ... you are literally throwing your investment away!

Aesthetics is a 50/50 partnership.

I do the heavy medical lifting in the chair, but you have to protect that fresh, vulnerable skin at home.

The best treatment in the world can't out-treat ongoing UV damage. Think of SPF as protecting your investment—without it, you're undoing much of the work we've just done.

To my lovely patients: No excuses.

Wear your sun cream every single day, even when it's cloudy ☁️

When the structural fat pads beneath the eyes naturally shift or deplete, it creates a physical step-off, a deep anatomical dip where light cannot hit...

The result? A heavy shadow cast across the lower lid that makes you look perpetually drained, no matter how rested you actually are 👁️

This patient was the absolute dream candidate for targeted tear trough dermal filler.
You can see the reduction in the hollow depth straight away. By restoring subtle volume to the deep orbital rim, we immediately eliminate the shadow.

Her under-eye area looks naturally bright, smooth, and rested, with zero puffiness and zero trace of treatment even taking place.

The periorbital area is one of the most anatomically delicate regions on the face. It requires a deep understanding of vascular networks, lymphatic drainage, and precise micro-cannula placement to ensure safety, avoid fluid retention, and yield an undetectable result.

When performed by a medical doctor, tear trough rejuvenation isn't just about volume, it’s about restoring your natural, vibrant energetic appearance.

To our patients across Harborne, Edgbaston, and Birmingham: stop trying to hide structural shadows with concealer. Let’s restore your brightness from within.

When it comes to internal wellness, consistency will always beat a one-off quick fix. Let’s talk about nutrient maintenance 🧠🔋

We’ve all been there, reaching a point of total exhaustion, booking a wellness treatment, and expecting to feel like a completely new person forever. But your cellular biology doesn't work that way 📉🧬

Intramuscular (IM) nutrient injections are highly efficient because they completely bypass the digestive tract, allowing essential vitamins to enter your bloodstream directly for maximum cellular utilisation. However, your body uses up these vital nutrients every single day to power your metabolism, support neurological function, manage stress, and build structural tissues (like your hair matrix) 🧠🧱

To experience the true, transformative benefits of nutrient therapy, like sustained cognitive clarity, balanced sleep cycles, immune resilience, increased energy, and vibrant hair health, you have to maintain your levels before they crash back down.

At MPower Clinic, we don't believe in ad-hoc guesswork. Following a thorough clinical assessment, Dr Mäla designs a structured maintenance schedule tailored entirely to your lifestyle, diet, and energy output. Whether that means a synchronised booster every 4–6 weeks or a targeted loading phase, keeping your internal tank topped up ensures your cells operate at their absolute peak year-round.

Stop waiting for the burnout to hit before you take care of your health. Preventative wellness is a continuous commitment ✨

Step away from the TikTok searches 🛑

We’ve all done it, you notice a line, you Google it, and suddenly you’re convinced you need three syringes of filler in a specific spot you saw an influencer talk about...

But facial anatomy is incredibly complex.

What causes a hollow or a fold on one person could be caused by an entirely different structural shift on you!

At my clinic, the facial analysis is where the real work happens. I look at your skin elasticity, your muscle movement, your fat pad compartments, and your bone structure to find the actual root cause of your concern 🔍

Leave the medical diagnosing to the professionals. Your job is simply to show up and tell me how you want to feel ✨

One filler does not fit all faces. In fact, it shouldn't even fit the same face❗️

One of the most critical clinical decisions I make daily at MPower Clinic is selecting the exact rheology, meaning the thickness, flexibility, lift capacity and tissue integration, of the product for your face.

We don't buy single-brand "packages" or try to force one type of gel to work everywhere. Instead, we stock a wide, premium range of licensed dermal fillers from industry-leading manufacturers including Restylane and Teoxane. This ensures we never have to compromise on your safety or your results, allowing us to select the absolute best product for your tissue density, anatomy and treatment goals. 💉

High-density, structured gels: These belong deep on the bone to sculpt a crisp jawline, project a chin, shape a nose, or structurally support a cheek. They have a high lifting capacity and must stay firmly where they are placed.

Soft, highly flexible gels: These belong in the dynamic, highly mobile areas of the face, such as the lips or the perioral area. They are designed to expand, contract and move seamlessly when you speak, laugh and smile.

And it doesn't stop there. Even within structural fillers, there are significant differences in how products behave. Some provide exceptional projection and support with minimal movement, while others combine impressive lift with greater flexibility and stretch, making them ideal for areas that require both structural support and natural facial expression.

Using a thick, stiff product in a mobile zone is what leads to that tell-tale "done" look or premature product migration. Conversely, using a soft product on the bone will offer little structural lift. 📉

Choosing filler isn't about selecting a brand. It's about selecting the right product, in the right patient. That's where science meets artistry.

Let's talk lower face architecture 📐

As we mature, the jawline naturally loses its crisp silhouette. Many people assume they need a surgical lift, but the clinical secret often lies in camouflaging the shadow created by the pre-jowl sulcus.

At my clinic, we focus on precision placement right in that little hollow. By restoring support to that specific zone, we can:
📐 Straighten the Jawline: Creating a smooth, continuous line from chin to angle
💉 Tighten the Appearance: Firming the look of the skin around the lower face
✨ Maintain Natural Character: No widening, no heavy masculinisation, just a youthful, elegant profile

Advanced medical aesthetics shouldn't have you look disproportioned or out of place...

Ruined shirts, constant anxiety, and endless failed or irritating clinical-strength sprays. Let’s talk openly about Hyperhidrosis 💧

For millions of people, excessive sweating isn’t just a minor inconvenience caused by a hot day or a gym session. It is a formally recognised medical condition known as Hyperhidrosis, and it can have a profound, daily impact on your confidence, clothing choices, and mental well-being.

If you find yourself constantly sweating through your clothes even when you are sitting in a cool room, or worrying about raising your arms during business meetings, you aren't alone.

Hyperhidrosis occurs when the body's overactive eccrine sweat glands receive continuous, misfired signals from the nervous system, forcing them into overdrive.

As a doctor working from a CQC clinic, Dr Mäla specialises in advanced medical sweat-reduction protocols designed to safely switch off this localised dysfunction.

During this quick, highly effective procedure, a targeted medical solution is precisely administered just beneath the skin layer of the underarms. This solution acts as a temporary barrier, safely intercepting and blocking the specific chemical signals that tell the sweat glands to activate.

The Result?
The sweat glands in the treated area are effectively put into a temporary state of rest.
Sweat reduction is significantly noticed within 4 to 14 days.
The treatment provides immense relief, typically lasting approximately 6 months.

The rest of your body continues to thermoregulate and sweat completely normally, we are simply switching off the localised hyperactive zone that causes you distress.
