Use your pain for power. ❤️

Two years ago, I would never have believed I could say those words and truly mean them.

On the 28th of July 2024, I recorded a video after a self-facilitated breathwork session. At the time, I didn't realise I was witnessing the beginning of my own healing.

Just a few months earlier, on Leap Day, the 29th of February, I had lost my brother.

The grief shattered me.

My relationship broke down. My business collapsed. I lost myself. Every morning I woke up with a heaviness I didn't know how to carry, and I honestly didn't know if I would ever feel like me again.

Then one day I made a decision.

I couldn't change what had happened, but I could choose what happened next.

After trying different healing modalities, breathwork gave me something I thought I had lost forever... hope.

In that old video, I kept repeating three simple affirmations:

✨ I trust myself.
✨ I am fearless.
✨ I am powerful.

Today, I look back with tears in my eyes because those words became my reality.

Today, I facilitate breathwork sessions every week. I support people through grief and life's deepest challenges. I have found purpose in the very place where I once felt completely broken.

I once watched a film where a teacher told a grieving young woman:

"Use your pain for power."

Those words stayed with me.

That is exactly what I chose to do.

I couldn't save my brother. I couldn't stop the heartbreak. But I could decide that his loss would not be meaningless.

His life, and the love I have for him, became the reason I now help others heal.

If you're reading this while your heart feels broken, please don't give up.

You may not believe it today, but one day your deepest pain could become your greatest purpose.

Keep going.

Your story isn't over yet. ❤️

We're running a free one-hour pilot session to help shape The Resilient Man Project and strengthen our grant application.

📅 Tuesday 4th August
🕑 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
📍 Wolverhampton Swimming & Leisure Centre, Bentley Bridge

If funding is approved, this pilot will grow into a weekly two-hour men's group, offering a regular space for connection, resilience, wellbeing, and personal growth.

During the session, you'll experience:
✔️ Somatic exercises to release stress and tension stored in the body.

Regulate & Restore: Somatic Movement for Community Wellbeing
FREE Trauma-Informed Somatic Exercise & Breathwork Sessions

Funded by Sport England and The National Lottery, this project has been created to offer something many people are silently needing — a safe space to slow down, reconnect, and begin to release what’s been held inside.

Because not everything we carry can be talked through.

Trauma, grief, and unprocessed emotions are stored in the body.
Over time, this can show up as anxiety, overwhelm, disconnection, fatigue, or a constant sense of pressure that doesn’t seem to go away.

These sessions are designed to gently support the release of that stored tension — without pressure, without expectation, and in your own time.

Through somatic movement and guided breathwork, you will be guided back into your body in a safe and supportive way, allowing space for regulation, release, and restoration.

This is not about pushing.
This is about allowing.

What to expect:

Trauma-informed, gentle somatic exercises
Guided breathwork
A calm, supportive group environment
Space to reconnect with yourself without needing to explain everything
Who is this for?
Adults (18+) who may be experiencing:

Grief or loss
Anxiety or overwhelm
Depression or low mood
Isolation or emotional heaviness
Or anyone who feels ready to reconnect with themselves on a deeper level.

Location:
📍 The Local Hub, Bloxwich

Duration:
2-hour sessions

You are welcome to attend one session or as many as you feel called to.

What to bring:

Yoga mat
Blanket & pillow
Water
Tissues
You don’t need to have it all figured out before you come.
You just need to show up.

If something in you feels drawn to this… that’s enough.

Celebrating Me

Reflection 1: My Celebration Timeline

Take a moment to create a timeline of your life.

List the moments, experiences, achievements, and milestones that deserved to be celebrated.

These could include:

- Birthdays
- School achievements
- Qualifications or training completed
- New jobs or promotions
- Starting a business
- Relationships
- Becoming a parent
- Holidays and adventures
- Personal breakthroughs
- Challenges you overcame
- Times you were brave
- Moments that changed your life

Big or small, write them down.

What moments in your life deserved celebration?

---

---

---

---

---

Reflection 2: Were They Celebrated?

Look back over your timeline.

For each moment, ask yourself:

- Was this acknowledged by others?
- Did I allow myself to celebrate it?
- Did I quickly move on to the next thing?
- Did I minimise what I had achieved?

Notice any moments that were overlooked, dismissed, or never truly celebrated.

Which moments deserved more recognition, appreciation, or celebration than they received?

---

---

---

Reflection 3: What Do I Need Today?

Choose one moment from your timeline that still feels unseen.

Close your eyes and imagine giving that version of yourself the celebration they deserved.

What would you say to them?

What would they need to hear?

How would it feel to fully acknowledge them today?

Complete this sentence:

Today, I celebrate myself for...

---

---

---

---

Remember:

You do not need to earn celebration.

You do not need to prove your worth.

Your journey, your courage, your growth, and your existence are all worthy of being honoured.

Today, choose to celebrate yourself.
