Both Laser Genesis and Limelight IPL are a powerhouse duo when wanting to work on redness and broken capillaries because they both specifically target blood vessels in the skin using light and heat.

Laser Genesis uses a 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser with lots of very gentle pulses of heat.

It helps redness by:

•heating tiny blood vessels under the skin
•causing abnormal superficial vessels to shrink
•reducing inflammation
•calming diffuse redness over time
•stimulating collagen, which can make skin look smoother and less reactive

It’s especially good for:

•rosacea-type redness
•general flushing
•mild diffuse pinkness
•sensitive or reactive skin

Because it’s gradual and gentle, there’s usually no downtime with this laser.

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is different because it uses broad-spectrum flashes of light.

The light is attracted to:

•haemoglobin in blood vessels (redness/capillaries)
•melanin in pigmentation
•When haemoglobin absorbs the light:

•the vessel heats up
•the vessel wall collapses
•the body gradually clears it away

That’s why IPL can be very effective for:

•visible broken capillaries
•red patches
•sun damage
•redness plus brown spots

They both work well because facial redness and capillaries are usually very superficial, so these two light-based devices can target them quite precisely without damaging surrounding skin too much. Great on their own but even better when combined to accelerate results.

Most people are usually red for 1-2 days, then skin feels mainly just dry and tight. Around day 3-4 skin starts shedding. You receive an aftercare pack including an enzyme peel and mask which you use on day 5/6 and after this you’re more or less back to normal with lovely bright, smoother, glowing skin.

Skin also continues to improve over a good 6 months.
1–3 months: collagen production increases, so texture, pores, acne scars, and fine lines gradually improve.
3–6 months: continued collagen remodeling can further soften scars and tighten/smooth the skin.

Such a good choice if you have scarring. Here’s how it works:

Fractional CO2 laser helps scars by creating thousands of tiny controlled “micro-injuries” in the skin while leaving surrounding skin intact. That triggers a wound-healing response that remodels old scar tissue and stimulates new collagen and elastin production.

Here’s what it does for different parts of a scar:

•Breaks up abnormal scar tissue
The laser vaporises microscopic columns of damaged skin and scar tissue, which helps soften and flatten scars over time.
•Stimulates collagen remodelling
New collagen forms during healing, helping depressed or uneven scars become smoother and more level with the surrounding skin.
•Improves texture and pores
The resurfacing effect smooths rough texture and can reduce enlarged pores often seen around acne scarring.
•Reduces redness and pigmentation somewhat
CO2 is mainly a resurfacing laser, but as skin renews it can also improve some post-inflammatory pigmentation or redness.
•Tightens skin
Heat from the laser contracts collagen, which can mildly tighten skin and improve the appearance of rolling scars.

Before and afters are around 6/7 months apart from having regular Laser Genesis facials. We started with Laser Genesis and Microneedling combined with medical grade serums containing polynucleotides to work on pigmentation, redness and anti-ageing and then we’ve recently had a session of Laser Genesis combined with ipl to work on the tiny red veins on her cheeks. We will be doing one more session of this to get rid of some tiny bits that are left.
