BROW COVER-UP WORK BUT NOT EVERY OLD BROW CAN BE COVERED✨✨
This client had her brows done years ago, elsewhere. Over time, the pigment had faded significantly, but there was still residual pigment within the skin.
She wanted a more defined, balanced and natural-looking brow so the first step was assessing whether her existing work was actually suitable for a cover-up.
And this is where experience and pigmentology matter.
Not every previous brow treatment can safely or successfully be covered.
Before creating new brows, I assess:
• How much residual pigment remains
• The depth and saturation of the old pigment
• The colour that remains in the skin
• Whether the previous pigment has shifted or changed over time
• The shape and density of the existing work
• The condition and integrity of the skin
An old brow may look faded on the surface, but that does not mean the pigment has disappeared.
When new pigment is implanted over significant residual pigment, the colours can interact. This can affect the healed result, colour balance, clarity and longevity.
For some clients, the correct professional decision is not to cover it immediately.
A removal or lightening session may be required first, allowing us to create a cleaner canvas and achieve a more predictable result💯
In this case, the existing brows were suitable for a carefully planned cover-up, with the new design created around the client’s facial structure rather than simply working over the old shape.
Good cover-up work isn’t about hiding what is underneath.
It is about understanding exactly what is underneath and knowing how to work with it💯✨
Every previous brow is different. Every skin is different. And every cover-up should be assessed individually.
Beautiful brows are not created by simply adding more pigment. They are created through assessment, anatomy, pigmentology, colour theory and controlled technique✨✨
Defined, deeper in colour but still beautifully natural✨✨
This beautiful client has Fitzpatrick Skin Type II with a normal, well-balanced skin condition. Normal skin generally provides a stable working surface, allowing pigment to be implanted evenly and supporting more predictable healed retention although every skin responds individually.
Using my signature Combo-Naturale® technique, I combined delicate machine hairstrokes with soft machine shading to create greater definition and depth without making the brows look heavy or artificial😍
The pigment selection was carefully considered according to her natural colouring, undertone, skin characteristics and desired healed result. The fresh colour will soften during healing, leaving a refined brow that enhances her features while remaining elegant and natural💯
Beautiful PMU is never simply about adding more pigment. It is about understanding the skin, selecting the right formulation and using the correct technique with control.

When reviewing a healed brow, I assess far more than pigment retention:
• Has the colour healed appropriately for the skin and undertone?
• Has the detail remained soft and believable?
• Has the shading settled evenly?
• Does the brow remain balanced within the client’s face?
• Has the result healed without looking excessively saturated?

When this lovely client first came to me, she wanted definition and fullness without losing a soft, natural appearance. As a fellow beauty professional, she understood the importance of choosing an artist whose work aligned with her vision💯

For this lovely client, my goal was to restore that natural definition and healthy looking colour while keeping the result soft, elegant, and perfectly balanced with her features💯
This photograph was taken immediately after the treatment, so a degree of swelling is completely normal. The colour also appears brighter at this stage. During the healing process, the skin regenerates and the pigment settles into the tissue, allowing the colour to soften by approximately 50–60% over the following weeks, revealing a beautifully natural healed result😍
For this treatment, I selected a pigment with a warm undertone. Warm-based pigments are often chosen to restore vitality to lips that have lost their natural warmth, helping to create a balanced, healthy appearance once healed ⭐️

This treatment was a brow cover-up work. Her previous permanent makeup had faded considerably, leaving a subtle cool-toned base. Swipe to see before photo ➡️
After carefully assessing her skin and the remaining pigment, I neutralised the old colour and created the look she was hoping for; a slightly bolder, more defined and darker brow while still keeping it elegant and in harmony with her features ✨
It’s important to remember that not every existing permanent makeup treatment is suitable for a cover-up. If the previous pigment is too saturated, too dark, or has migrated significantly, removal or lightening sessions may be recommended before creating a new set of brows.
A thorough consultation and assessment will always determine the safest and most appropriate treatment plan for your individual case💯

The colour will heal approximately 50–60% softer, revealing a beautifully natural result over the coming weeks✨

Using a bespoke Ombre Lip Blush technique, I focused on restoring harmony rather than changing what nature had already given her. By carefully refining the border and creating a soft colour transition, I was able to enhance her natural lip shape while maintaining an elegant, effortless look😍
