blast from the past today, I got called to do a job on a DAF in a customer's yard where I haven't set foot in 20 years! My first Saturday job was working on car transporters here, unfortunately, this particular company doesn't operate out this site anymore but it was sure odd walking around the old yard remembering stuff

6 coming out and 6 going in.

Nice little Tuesday job, as always, it helps to have all the correct tools to pull and code injectors and I think that's why I end up with so many of these jobs from customers around the country!

More Top-End Trouble…

We were called out to this DAF MX-11 for a simple injector replacement — but a closer look revealed more top-end Trouble.

A worn camshaft and failed followers meant it needed some serious attention So a bunch of money, new parts, and some valve clearance adjustment later, this engine is back running like a dream

Info plus diagram add-on to the rescue again in Preston today helping me trace wiring through the bulkhead.

I'd be stuck without accurate technical dealer diagrams doing this!

Burnt plugs = big problems

Another job where fitting 2 new Adblue pumps didn't fix the problem.
A new plug and terminals off the van soon rectified this issue though 👌

Another 5-ch camera kit going in today on a DAF LF , he even bought me a STARBUCKS! Talk about looking after me!

We’re tackling EAC (SAC on a DAF) using the Knorr-Bremse add-on with from this morning! 🔧

With exclusive functionalities, I will be able to replace this failed part and get the truck back on the road fast.

It is all about Diagnosing, programming, and getting the customer back on the road faster! 🚛⚙️

YOU CAN'T BEAT A WATER-COOLED ECU.
Had a call from a customer who had no backlights today, I was able to call in on the way back from a job in Birmingham to investigate the issue for him.

With no communication on with the ECU, I was able to use the diagrams to test for power, grounds and can.

No issues here........so removed the ECU, opened it up and found this mess!

Thankfully this truck will be back on the road tomorrow after an appointment with central services from to program the new ECU.

Back to the TATRA! Finally got the truck off the mountain and down for repairs today.
Had to deal with a hydrocarbon storage issue, a PM sensor issue, and an exchange DPF fitted from and of course, this wouldn't be possible without Jaltest from to facilitate the CLEANED DPF service and forced regeneration to clear the hydrocarbon fault 👍😎
