Cysteamine VS TGA (Thioglycolic acid)

TGA is the OG of the lash lift and brow lamination world, where’s cysteamine is the Gen-Z, but they do the same thing, so what’s actually the difference?

TGA (thioglycolic acid) and Cysteamine both work by raising the PH of the hair, opening the cuticle and breaking down the disulphide bond(which are responsible for hair strength and structure). This step allows us to “reshape” the hair to a desired shape.

Cysteamine is considered as more gentler than TGA. As cysteamine is more gentle, it reduces the risk of over processing lash & brow hair. Both working great and giving the same results, although if you’ve previously had the treatment and been put off by the smell of the solution, cysteamine based product will be your friend as it there is little to no odour, making the treatment experience more enjoyable!

Busting lash extension myths ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Myth 1) “You can’t get your lashes wet for 24 hours” - when lash extensions first came out, yes this was true, but long are the days we had to worry over this! Over the years lash glue has evolved, it completely cures within minutes, I even have done a lash bath right after completing a full set, and retention was amazing!

Myth 2) “Lash extensions ruin your natural lashes” - this has only ever become a thing due to poor lash isolation, poor application and applying too many lash extensions on a natural lash(this is why I love making my own fans as this allows me to tailor each lash fan to the individual lash to ensure the lash extensions is not too heavy) Always research the lash tech you’re going to as good application means no lash damage!

Myth 3) “Lashes need to breathe” - hair, just like nails do not have the ability to breathe. The hair shaft is formed out of dead cells, meaning it’s a non living structure.

Myth 4) “You need a lash break every so often” - as long as the application is correct, lash after care is followed, you don’t need a lash break. Of course you can have one if you want one(and enjoy being able to rub your eyes), if you’re having one please ensure lashes are removed by a professional.

Myth 5) “Lash extensions look fake and are bulky”- every lash set is tailored directly to you, some prefer a dramatic look, some prefer a natural look, it’s your preference and we will work towards achieving your lash goals while enhancing your natural features.
