Hi everyone

This week I have had three people into clinic where I have had to decline their treatment due to their lips looking similar to the below picture. This is due to a previous practitioner injecting filler into the wet border of the lip. This causes lips to appear lumpy and uneven.

All clients have been advised to dissolve and refill and will be re-booked into clinic to arrange the dissolve following a consultation with my prescriber.

Please note that when you attend clinic for a filler appointment if there are any issues with filler migration or filler injected incorrectly by a previous practitioner I will not be able to carry out the treatment and I would advise dissolve. You would then need a further appointment with myself and my prescriber on a different date to discuss and ensure that you are suitable for a dissolve.

Clients not suitable for Hyalase dissolve include:

Individuals with Allergies: Those with a known allergy to hyaluronidase, sheep-derived products, or a history of severe allergies/anaphylaxis.

Bee or Wasp Venom Allergy: Individuals who experience severe, systemic allergic reactions to bee or wasp stings may be cross-reactive to hyaluronidase.

Pregnant or Breastfeeding Clients: Hyalase is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

Active Infection or Inflammation: Clients with an active skin infection, cold sore (herpes virus), or significant inflammation in or near the treatment area.

Non-HA Fillers: Clients whose fillers are not hyaluronic acid-based, such as Sculptra® (poly-L-lactic acid), Radiesse® (calcium hydroxyapatite).

Autoimmune Conditions/Immunosuppressed: Those on medications affecting the immune system may have contraindications.

Blood-Thinning Medications: Clients taking medication that prolongs bleeding, such as warfarin or aspirin, may face a higher risk of adverse effects.
