The ever popular lymphatic facial!

There are so many benefits to this beautiful treatment, but I think the most crucial benefit is that it feels amazing!

Working gently to the face, neck, shoulders and scalp this treatment never fails to relax. There's a really beautiful moment during these treatments when I get to see a person at their most peaceful state. All the worry and stress of life falls away and there's just calm.

This is a pattern I see often with many different people.
I ask how they feel and they will respond with a variation of "It doesn't hurt".

Of course this is important information during a massage treatment and I'm glad that it doesn't hurt but... how does it feel?

We aren't just in a cycle of 'pain' or 'absence from pain'. At least, we shouldn't be.

We are capable of feeling a myriad of different sensations and massage and bodywork can be an effective tool for accessing these feelings.

Sometimes we may struggle to find the words and that's ok. Our vocabulary is lacking when it comes to explaining our sensations to others. Can you let yourself know how you feel? Even if this means just sitting with a feeling and noticing it for a while?

Finding the right words to describe any sensation, but especially pain, can be near impossible.
Something is always going to get lost in translation and one person's response to pain is never going to be identical to another persons.
Although you may not be able to coherently explain your pain to another see if you are able to give it a language that you can understand privately.
Some people see their pain in colours or visions, maybe giving the sensation a number out of 10 is helpful.
Being able to give your pain some sort of structure so you can track it over time can be helpful. Do you feel better or worse than yesterday?

Having a massage in the hot weather? So long as you are generally fit and well there shouldn't be any problems. Just remember that the focus in the heat will be on slow, calming moves. Regulating your central nervous system, allowing you to naturally cool your body.

My treatment room manages to stay fairly cool in summer and I always have water ready for you. If you prefer you can have the fan on, a cooling blanket for your feet or even incorporate cold stones to your treatment.

If you've been out in the sun recently and are feeling it on your skin we could use soothing coconut oil to calm down the redness.

As always though, listen to your body and do what feels right for you. If it's too hot for you then get in touch and reschedule your treatment. Don't be uncomfortable during your massage!

I was recently told by Fresha (my booking platform) that I had won one of their 'Highly Recommended' Awards which is nice.

Apparently it is based on my client reviews and client retention. So to all my clients who have left me a review and to those of you who keep coming back to see me... Thank you so much!

Lymphatic drainage can help with so many issues. If you’re feeling sluggish, achy and lethargic your lymphatic system could do with a boost.
If your legs often feel heavy and swollen then lymphatic drainage work could help.
It’s a wonderfully relaxing treatment that can ease tension in the body and the mind.
