York Dreadlocks

It's been a while since I've posted! We're in prague for Gareths birthday (today) and it's our last day. Its so beautiful here and we've loved every second.
I hope your all doing well. I'm back in York early January so wanted to put it out there that I will be available for a few tidy ups if you didn't manage to get your dreads up over the Christmas period. Tidy up for the lovely Jules from FloatiLocs in York last Friday. We tidied up the roots and bodies of the dreads. Great to meet a new loctician in the trade and have a good chat about all things dread related. It was lovely to meet you and hear about your life on the boat and get to know you.
If anyone is looking to get their dreads sorted or installed then I can personally recommend Jules :) I'm no longer doing dreads in York, I'm based up in Stowmarket doing dread work with Dawn of the dread uk Jules is a lovely person and great loctician! Hello everyone. I've been meaning to post on here for a while. I no longer offer regular dreadlock services in the York area. I may occasionally offer some on visits back to York but these visits are to see friends and family so can't promise anything.

I am now working with my love and business partner Dawn of the dread uk offering partial dread tidies and (other services soon) in the Stowmarket area if your up this way or are willing to travel. Just thought I'd post on here to let everyone know.

The locticians I'd recommend in the local area are: Chloe Van Daemon (Scarborough - she uses personal account for bookings), Christy Dread Services Happy Dreads and FloatiLocs in York Christy operates in Derby area, Happy Dreads is Leeds/Knottingley area and Floatilocs is York :)

Currently on holiday with my love and business partner Gareth Buxton Dawn of the dread uk in Sidari, Corfu. Sad to be leaving tomorrow. However we have lots of nice things to look forward to. York trips, Gareth is going to download and then we're off to London end of the month to see Street Corner Thieves. I'm visiting York by myself second weekend of June and putting 10th June aside to do dread tidies. If anyone wants one it would be at your house. Message or comment below if you want to book 💜

I've had a last minute cancellation if anyone in York area wants dread maintenance or a partial or half head install doing whilst I'm back. Please note I am asking clients to pick me up and drop me off or cover my transport and travel costs as I no longer have my usual workspace so am travelling to clients houses. If you can't accommodate this please let me know asap. I have paid a fair bit to get back to york and have budgeted my trip back around work and times are tough for us all financially, I can't afford to lose work. I have availability tomorrow late afternoon. Please message me for details :)

All clients have now been booked in for my end of march visit :) once I've completed these jobs, I won't be offering dread work in the York area for the foreseeable future. This isn't a decision that was easy to make but it's a sensible one. I don't have a workplace to work from anymore and it's costly for me travelling to and from clients and I can't expect clients to collect me etc every time. Plus when I visit, as much as I want to see my lovely clients I also want to reserve this time for my family and friends. I will continue to do the odd tidy/repair work/partials/full head/extensions if I can accommodate this and your happy to pay for my travel or collect me and have me at your house working. You are also welcome to come to Stowmarket where both me and Gareth work doing dreads at Dawn of the dread uk and we can work on your hair. We have plenty of availability between the two of us. I just wanted to say a big thankyou to all my clients and family and friends that have supported me over the years to build my business. I am still doing dreadlocks, just not in the York area. If you want someone closer to home, I highly recommend Chloe Van Daemon in Scarborough for all your dread needs. All booked appointments in March will go ahead 💜

It's been a while since I've posted and as most of you know, I am now based in Stowmarket. If you are happy to travel then you can come and see myself and my partner at Dawn of the dread uk and have your dread work done. However, I am visiting every few months and will fit new and existing clients in when I can. I am next visiting between the 29th and 31st March and have started contacting clients in order of when deposits were paid. Then I have contacted clients who expressed interest in booking appointments but have yet to pay a deposit. I may come a few days earlier depending on how many want to book in. If you want to book then please let me know ASAP as I will need to make accommodation and travel arrangements. I am currently travelling to clients whilst back in York as the place I used to work from is no longer available for me to work from. Im kindly asking clients to pick me up and drop me off if they drive for ease of fitting you all in.

Hope everyone has had a great Christmas and new year :)
I had a great time travelling around South East Asia for 6 weeks with my lovely family. I returned to Stowmarket last week where I now live with my partner Gareth who runs Dawn of the dread uk
I am planning a visit by the end of March with Gareth to see friends/family and fit clients in. He will also be helping me with appointments :) he has 15 years experience. Those of you who have already paid deposits, I have added you to my list and will be in touch re dates closer to the time.
Any other clients who would like to go on this list, please let me know and we can sort a small deposit. Alternatively ask me to put you on my list and you'll be contacted nearer the time for a deposit once every one else who has paid one has been given a date :) I book people in order of when they paid a deposit so its fair. Look forward to seeing you soon :)

Sharing my partners post cos a deposit is a deposit. I've had a few people mess me about lately for various reasons and a deposit is to cover my loss of work. You read my t and cs when you book in. I will not tolerate abusive messages or slander. Thanks for reading 🙃🙃🙃

Some info for anyone who doesn't know how deposits work.

As a small niche business, I have to take deposits. Sometimes, I get people wanting to cancel and ask for their money back due to changing their mind, being ill, removing their dreads. All deposits are final. If someone cancels last minute, I can't fill that space. It is very unfair to expect me to make a loss for your illnesses, change of heart or general flakiness. When someone cancels an appointment, I lose the rest of the appointment money I would have made. This way we both make a loss. Before booking an appointment, please read my terms and conditions. I spend many hours replying to client messages, all of which is unpaid work, and deposits help me work out who's serious and who's wasting my time .

If you want to book an appointment, a deposit is required on the day of enquiry. I can't hold a date on the ofchance someone will follow through with their word and pay me on their pay day, when their partner gets home from work, when a blue moon rises 😅. I don't have time to chase people up, and these convos can easily get lost among the many messages I recieve. By being strict with this, this helps stop double bookings.
